Chapter Fourteen - Questions and Bad News 

IT had been a week since the Weasleys returned to England - as much as loved them Nova was so glad they had left; Charlie - her neighbour- had met them and he was shocked at the volume of Weasleys. He had joked about having a big family with Carlisle, and she laughed before punching him in the arm. Bella had loved her room and had settled well in school so Nova thought, she was just coming back from a shopping trip with Rosalie and Alice when the Seventeen-year-old collared her. 

"Erm, Miss Malfoy" Bella greeted her Nova sighed as she turned her coffee in hand. 

"Please Bella - Nova is okay" She stated Bella nodded fiddling with the sleeve of her jacket. 

"I was wondering if I could have a word?" Nova looked at the nervous-looking teen and nodded smiling as she turned to unlock her home. Bella followed and jumped as Ares bounced to greet them. "Wow" she replied looking at the very big dog. 

"Oh he can be a little overwhelming" Nova replied to Bella "Ares behave" Ares whined in response but flopped on his belly, allowing the teen to bend to stroke him. Bella realised how soft his dark fur was as she scratched his ear. 

"No it's okay" the teen replied "he is gorgeous" Ares gave a huff, his nose in the air as Nova also scratched his back. She rolled her eyes before waving Bella through to the kitchen. 

"Come on love" She replied her accentuated voice soft "I'll make us a cuppa" Bella nodded giving Ares one more head scratch before straightening up. Bella kicked off her shoes - something she spotted Nova doing before following her through the sitting room with a gasp; the house was beautiful, with expensive furnishings, and decore - it was a sight better than the home Bella lived in. 

"You should give Charlie some tips" Bella commented looking around the kitchen as well.

"I tried" Nova giggled as she made two cups of tea in beautiful glass cups. "but you know him, stubborn as a gryphon that man" Bella raised her eyebrows at the analogy of her father, it was one she hadn't heard before, sure a mule but gryphon? Must be a British thing the teen mused. 

"Yeah guess so" Bella stated as Nova handed Bella a cup, on the island was a small cemetric pot full of sugar cubes there was also a small jug of milk next to it. Bella added two cubes and a splash of milk. Stirring the tea with the gold spoon. Nova did the same to her own as she settled on top of the island. 

"So what's been troubling you?" Nova asked Bella struggled to find the words 

"So you're dating the doctor aren't you?" Bella asked and Nova nodded brushing off invisable crumbs of her dark jeans. 

"Yes" Nova replied watching the teen struggle with her words over her mug of tea. "why?" Nova lowered her cup as Bella hugged hers. 

"I just -"  Bella paused "I am in classes with Edward and well -" she paused "He seems a little rude" 

"Oh," Nova commented confused the witch looked at her cup; before settling her soft grey eyes on Bella. "Edward did mention you were sharing - biology is it?" Bella nodded in confirmation. "yes, he did mention it but he seemed alright with sharing with you" 

"He's disappeared and I wondered if you knew where he had gone?"  The teenager rushed out 

"Oh He had a family issue" Nova lied to the teen "He's had to go to Alaska" 

"Alaska?" She commented confused and Nova nodded making a note to remind Carlisle what she was saying 

"Yeah they're from there" Nova explained "And as for Edward being rude, I could always you know have a word with Carlisle if you like?"
