The morning sun barely kissed the skyline when the black Mercedes pulled up in front of the courthouse, its engine purring like a beast in the shadows. The sleek car came to a halt with precision, the windows darkened, obscuring the face of the one inside—until the door swung open.

Jeon Jungkook stepped out of the car, his tailored suit a perfect fit, cutting through the chill of the early morning air. His eyes were hidden behind stylish aviator sunglasses, his jawline sharp enough to carve stone. He moved with an effortless confidence, his stride long and purposeful, as if the world was his to command. His presence commanded attention, and the few who were gathered outside the courthouse paused to take him in.

"Here we go again," murmured one bystander, as Jungkook passed by with his team in tow—Soobin, his young junior attorney, and Mingyu, his ever-loyal legal assistant.

Soobin looked up at Jungkook with admiration, his mind racing to catch up with his mentor’s brisk pace. "Every time you walk into a room, it feels like we’re about to win, doesn’t it?"

Jungkook flashed him a smirk without breaking stride. "That’s because we are, Soobin. We don’t lose, not when it matters."

Mingyu, walking beside them, adjusted his glasses and gave a chuckle. "I’ve got the paperwork ready, Jungkook. Let’s crush them."

Inside the courthouse, the atmosphere was thick with tension. The case was a highly publicized one: a six-year-old girl, Maya, was caught in a bitter custody battle between her abusive father and her mother, who had fought tooth and nail to gain custody. The father had a history of violence, and the mother, though unprepared for the legal complexities, had a fierce protector in Jungkook.

Jungkook entered the courtroom, and the air seemed to change. Lawyers, clients, and spectators turned their heads. His reputation as a ruthless, nearly unshakable attorney preceded him.

"Mr. Jeon, always a pleasure," came the voice of Kang Hana, the opposing attorney, a woman known for her cold, calculating demeanor. She was tall, confident, her black suit sharp as a blade. She was here to defend the father, a man with a dark reputation for cruelty, but Hana was never one to be underestimated. She had won many cases on sheer intellect and precision, and she had a knack for getting under people’s skin.

Jungkook didn’t even look her way as he strode to his table. "Save the pleasantries, Hana. Let’s just get this over with."

Hana smirked. "Always so eager to jump into the fray. Tell me, Jungkook, does your confidence ever waver? Or is it just a facade you hide behind?"

He finally glanced at her, the corner of his lips twitching into a smile. "You’d know about facades, wouldn’t you? Let’s just see who’s got the better argument today."

Jungkook sat down at his table with a smooth motion, Soobin and Mingyu immediately getting to work. Soobin shuffled through the documents, his hands shaking slightly. "I’ve reviewed the mother’s testimony, Jungkook. It’s all there. We can prove the father’s history of abuse."

Jungkook nodded, his gaze unwavering. "We’ll do more than prove it. We’ll make them see the truth."

As the judge entered, everyone stood, and the room fell into a hushed silence. The case was about to begin.

---

The courtroom was intense. The opposing attorney, Kang Hana, started by presenting her side of the case. She was methodical, her voice smooth as velvet, laced with cold conviction. She painted the mother as unstable, her claims exaggerated and unsupported by evidence. It was a strategy designed to wear down the other side, to make them seem desperate.

"I submit that Maya’s mother has no business raising a child in such an environment," Hana said, her gaze icy. "She has shown herself incapable of providing a stable home, let alone a safe one."

Jungkook stood up, his eyes locked onto Hana with a cold, unreadable expression. "Objection, Your Honor," he said, his voice cutting through the tension like a knife.

The judge, an older woman with a no-nonsense attitude, nodded. "Sustained. Mr. Jeon, make your point."

Jungkook moved to the front of the room with a fluid grace, his every step calculated. He wasn’t here to play nice; he was here to win. He fixed his gaze on the judge and then on the jury, his presence dominating the room.

"Let’s set the record straight, shall we?" Jungkook began, his voice steady, calm, but with an edge that made the room sit up straighter. "The father in this case has a history of violent outbursts. He has repeatedly threatened the mother and, on several occasions, inflicted harm upon her. This is not a matter of opinion; this is fact."

He turned toward the witness stand, where Maya’s mother sat, her hands trembling in her lap. "Your Honor, I present to you the medical records, police reports, and sworn affidavits from neighbors who’ve witnessed the abuse. This is not a man who deserves custody of his daughter. This is a man who has proven time and again that he is unfit to be a parent."

Jungkook’s gaze flickered to Hana, who sat silently for a moment before rising to object. "Mr. Jeon, are you accusing my client without regard to his parental rights? The law clearly states—"

"—that a child’s welfare is the highest priority," Jungkook interrupted, cutting her off. "And it is clear, based on the evidence, that Maya’s safety lies with her mother. The law doesn’t protect abusers, Hana. It protects the innocent."

The tension in the courtroom was palpable, and Jungkook’s words echoed in the silence that followed. He took his seat, his expression unreadable, but there was no mistaking the power behind his words.

Hana tried to argue, but her words stumbled, failing to match the precision of Jungkook’s. The jury’s eyes were now firmly on him, every word he spoke cutting through the air with surgical precision.

The rest of the trial went by in a blur. Every argument Hana put forward, Jungkook countered effortlessly. His questions during cross-examination were sharp, his logic unassailable. He peeled away the lies, the half-truths, until only the truth remained.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the judge called for a recess. The room buzzed with whispered conversations, but Jungkook was calm—almost detached. He didn’t need to speak to know the case was in the bag.

When the judge returned, the verdict came swiftly. "After reviewing the evidence, I find in favor of the mother. Custody of Maya will remain with her mother. The father will have supervised visitation only."

Jungkook stood, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips. Soobin and Mingyu exchanged glances, both relieved but in awe of their boss’s performance.

"Another victory," Jungkook muttered as they gathered their things. "Maya gets to stay safe with her mother, where she belongs."

Mingyu clapped him on the back. "You were a beast in there, as always. They never stood a chance."

Jungkook shrugged nonchalantly, his eyes scanning the room as he made his way toward the door. "I don’t do this for the applause, Mingyu. I do it because some people are worth fighting for."

As he left the courthouse, the doors closing behind him, the world outside seemed to shift once again. Jeon Jungkook had won, and it wasn’t just a case—this was a battle for justice. And he would always fight to win.
