The team gathered in the conference room, buzzing with excitement. Namjoon stood at the head of the table, a projector displaying their itinerary on the wall. Jin, sitting next to him, had a rare, relaxed smile, clearly looking forward to the much-needed break.
“Alright, everyone, listen up!” Namjoon began, clapping his hands to get their attention. “We leave tomorrow morning, so I’m going to go over the itinerary one last time before we head to Jeju.”
The room fell silent, everyone eager to hear the details.
“This is a fully sponsored trip, courtesy of the law firm,” Jin added, earning cheers from the group. “Flights, hotel, everything’s covered.”
“So no backing out!” Namjoon smirked. “It’s all set, and we expect everyone to have fun while also being a little professional.”
“Mostly fun, though,” Jin chimed in.
Namjoon rolled his eyes good-naturedly. “Anyway, room assignments are as follows. Jin and I will be in room one.”
“Obviously,” Jimin teased, earning chuckles from the group.
“Jungkook and Yoongi in room two.”
Jungkook and Yoongi exchanged glances, neither saying much, but there was a subtle tension in the air. Jungkook could already feel the disappointment creeping in, but he kept his expression neutral.
“Jimin and Taehyung will be sharing room three,” Namjoon continued.
Taehyung blinked in surprise, and Jungkook subtly shifted in his seat. He wanted to be with Taehyung, and from the quick glance Taehyung gave him, it was clear he felt the same. They both stayed quiet, trying not to show their disappointment.
“Yeonjun and Soobin will be in room four, and Beomgyu and Taehyun will share room five,” Namjoon concluded.
Everyone nodded in agreement, though the unspoken frustration between Jungkook and Taehyung hung in the air. The meeting was wrapping up when Jimin suddenly stood up from his chair, his voice cutting through the chatter.
“Actually,” Jimin said with a casual smile, “I’ll be sharing a room with Yoongi.”
The room fell silent as everyone turned to look at him, shocked. Jungkook raised an eyebrow, and even Taehyung looked at him in surprise. Jin raised his eyebrows in confusion, and Namjoon opened his mouth to speak, but Jimin just winked and continued.
“Jungkook can share with Taehyung instead,” Jimin added, as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
Yoongi, sitting next to Jimin, had a small, subtle smile on his face. It was rare to see him so soft, and the sight made everyone raise eyebrows.
Taehyung, still a bit stunned, looked at Jimin, who gave him a wink before he sauntered out of the room. Jungkook, on the other hand, couldn’t hide his grin. It seemed like things were finally falling into place.
“Well, that settles it then,” Jin said, glancing at Namjoon with a shrug. “I guess Jungkook and Taehyung will be in room three.”
Taehyung blushed but didn’t protest. He didn’t need to. Jungkook was already imagining how the trip was going to go now, and it was far better than he had initially thought.

Later that day, back at the office, Taehyung dragged Jungkook into the parking lot with a playful tug on his sleeve.
“Come on, Jungkook, you’re helping me pack,” Taehyung announced as they headed to Jungkook’s car. “I need your help.”
Jungkook chuckled. “You’re asking me for help packing? That’s a first. You’re usually the one with everything planned out down to the minute.”
Taehyung grinned. “Yeah, well, I thought we could spend some time together. Plus, you’re spontaneous, and I like that about you.”
Jungkook raised an eyebrow, amused. “I see what you’re doing.”
“What?” Taehyung asked innocently as they got into the car.
Jungkook smirked, shaking his head. “Nothing. Let’s get you packed, Mr. Preplanned.”
They arrived at Taehyung’s apartment, and true to his nature, Taehyung already had a mental checklist of everything he needed. His suitcase was neatly laid out on his bed, with clothes folded and ready to be packed. Jungkook, on the other hand, took one look at the suitcase and immediately started pulling out random items of clothing.
“Do you really need three jackets?” Jungkook asked, holding up one of Taehyung’s neatly folded coats.
Taehyung grabbed the jacket from him, mock-scolding him. “Yes, I do. Jeju can get chilly at night.”
Jungkook laughed, sitting on the edge of the bed. “You’re such a planner. I just throw stuff into a bag and hope for the best.”
Taehyung shook his head, smiling fondly as he folded a shirt. “That’s why we balance each other out.”
After some back-and-forth teasing, with Jungkook playfully tossing clothes around and Taehyung chasing him to refold them, they finally finished packing. The banter and laughter had lightened the mood, and Taehyung felt at ease being with Jungkook like this.
As evening approached, Jungkook decided to cook dinner, insisting that Taehyung take it easy and rest his injured hand. Taehyung sat on the kitchen countertop, swinging his legs while watching Jungkook move around the kitchen.
“You’re getting better at cooking,” Taehyung remarked, resting his chin in his hand as he observed Jungkook chopping vegetables.
“Thanks to you,” Jungkook replied with a grin. “You taught me a lot.”
Taehyung smiled, enjoying the domesticity of the moment. It felt like they had done this a hundred times before, and it was always comfortable.
“Are you sure you don’t need help?” Taehyung asked, though his tone was playful.
Jungkook shook his head, turning to give Taehyung a pointed look. “You still need to rest your hand. No chopping vegetables for you.”
Taehyung pouted but complied, letting Jungkook take care of the cooking. “Fine, but only because you’re spoiling me.”
Jungkook stepped closer, his gaze softening as he reached out to gently touch Taehyung’s injured hand. “You need to take care of yourself, okay? No more catching knives with your bare hands.”
Taehyung chuckled lightly but felt a warmth spread in his chest at Jungkook’s concern. “I’ll be careful, I promise.”
Jungkook’s eyes lingered on Taehyung’s face for a moment longer before he turned back to the stove, stirring the pot with a content smile.
As the food cooked, the two of them shared subtle glances and small moments of affection, like when Jungkook would lean over to taste the sauce and Taehyung would brush his fingers through Jungkook’s hair absentmindedly. It was quiet, simple, and intimate — a side of their relationship that felt natural and real.
After dinner, Jungkook washed the dishes while Taehyung wiped down the countertops, his hand still in its bandage. They worked in silence, but it was the kind of silence that felt full — full of unspoken words, lingering touches, and a sense of peace.
When the kitchen was clean, they made their way to the bedroom. Jungkook set up Taehyung’s suitcase by the door and fluffed the pillows on the bed. As they settled in for the night, Jungkook couldn’t help but steal glances at Taehyung, whose tiredness was starting to show.
“You okay?” Jungkook asked softly, sitting on the edge of the bed.
Taehyung nodded, his eyes half-closed as he leaned back against the pillows. “I’m more than okay. I’m with you.”
Jungkook’s heart swelled at the simple words, and without thinking, he leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to Taehyung’s forehead.
Taehyung smiled, his eyes fluttering shut as Jungkook settled beside him, wrapping an arm around his waist. “Goodnight, Jungkook.”
“Goodnight, baby,” Jungkook whispered, holding him close as the two of them drifted into a peaceful sleep, ready for the adventures that awaited them in Jeju.
