The evening had been a whirlwind. Jungkook, Taehyung, Yoongi, and Jimin had barely spoken a word after Namjoon and Seokjin’s big announcement. The weight of the revelation settled heavy in their hearts, but with their parents and the elders present, none of them dared to react. They had congratulated the couple, forced smiles, and barely touched the food laid out before quietly leaving the banquet hall, the tension between them simmering like an unspoken storm.

---
The next morning at Namjoon’s law firm, Yoongi sat in his office, eyes closed, resting his head against the back of his chair. He hadn’t slept much the night before. His mind replayed the events of the previous evening, the sight of Jimin’s red-rimmed eyes flashing across his memory like a haunting image he couldn’t shake. He had kept it together then, but now, alone in his office, his carefully maintained walls began to crumble. A single tear slipped from the corner of his eye.

The moment was shattered by the sudden blast of Jungkook’s voice breaking into his silence. “Yoongi-hyung, you okay?” Jungkook asked, his tone laced with concern, though he tried to mask it with his usual nonchalance.

Yoongi wiped the tear quickly and straightened, his face turning cold. “I’m fine,” he muttered, but Jungkook could see through the act. Without another word, Jungkook grabbed Yoongi’s arm, pulling him from his chair.

“We’re going to talk to Namjoon hyung,” Jungkook said with a firm resolve, leading Yoongi down the hall to Namjoon’s office.

In Namjoon’s office, the air was thick with tension as Jungkook and Yoongi stood before him. Namjoon looked exhausted, but his expression was calm, pleading.

“I know you both are upset,” Namjoon began, his voice quiet but steady. “But this merger...it’s the only way Seokjin and I can convince our parents. If we don’t do this, the wedding won’t happen.”

Yoongi’s eyes narrowed, his voice cutting through the room like a blade. “Namjoon, do you even understand what you’re asking us to support? This isn’t just some business decision. You’re turning our lives upside down.”

Jungkook crossed his arms, his tone cold and biting. “We get that you love Seokjin-hyung, but dragging us into this...it’s not fair.”

Namjoon stood up, moving from behind his desk to stand in front of his two closest friends. “I know it’s not fair. I hate that I’m putting you both in this position. But I need you. You’re like brothers to me. Without your support, this won’t work.”

Yoongi and Jungkook exchanged glances, both still brimming with disappointment, but Namjoon’s sincerity and the desperation in his eyes softened them. After a long pause, Yoongi sighed heavily, his anger cooling into something more resigned. “Fine,” he said quietly, running a hand through his hair. “We’ll support you.”

Jungkook nodded, though his face remained expressionless. “We’ll go along with this...but don’t think we’re happy about it.”

Namjoon exhaled, relief flooding his features as he pulled both of them into a tight, grateful embrace.

Meanwhile, chaos was brewing in Seokjin’s office. Jimin and Taehyung sat quietly, their eyes red from crying, staring at Seokjin as he paced the room, looking as nervous as they had ever seen him.

“Hyung, we just...we didn’t expect this,” Jimin finally spoke, his voice trembling. “Why didn’t you tell us?”

Seokjin stopped in his tracks and turned to face them, his expression softening. “I didn’t want to hurt you both. I didn’t want you to feel blindsided. But Namjoon and I...we love each other. This merger is the only way to make our families accept us.”
