Jungkook leaned back in his seat, trying to maintain his usual cool, detached demeanor. His fingers tapped lightly against the armrest of the chair, his eyes flicking around the room, but inevitably, they kept landing on Taehyung.

There he was. Kim Taehyung.

Jungkook had always heard people call Taehyung beautiful, but nothing could have prepared him for the reality sitting across the table. Taehyung’s skin was practically glowing, his curls falling perfectly over his forehead, and his lips—god, those soft, pink lips—seemed to have their own gravitational pull. It was absurd how someone could look so ethereal, like he had just stepped out of a painting. And those eyes...innocent yet knowing, warm but distant. Jungkook felt something tighten in his chest.

For a moment, he was completely awestruck. The way Taehyung’s soft smile lit up his face, the effortless elegance in his posture—it made Jungkook’s heart stutter in ways he wasn’t prepared for.

But he hid it. He had to. The last thing he wanted was to let anyone—especially Taehyung—see that he was affected. So, he did what he always did: put up the facade, hid behind his arrogance, and leaned back, casting a glance that was as cool and unreadable as ever. He caught Taehyung’s gaze, just for a second, and felt the air between them spark. Taehyung’s eyes widened slightly, but before anything could register, they both looked away. Jungkook clenched his fists under the table, willing his heart to slow down.

Across the table, Taehyung was just as shaken. He had felt Jungkook’s stare the moment he walked in, even before they locked eyes. It was like the room had frozen for a split second, and all Taehyung could think about was the way Jungkook had looked at him—not with the cold, calculating expression he always wore in court, but with something else. Something...undeniable.

Taehyung swallowed, trying to ignore the sudden warmth that spread across his cheeks. He had been so caught up in talking to Jisoo that he hadn’t even noticed Jungkook entering the room. But now, sitting directly across from him, he could feel the weight of Jungkook’s presence. It was overwhelming. The man was a walking storm, all power and intensity hidden behind a deceptively calm facade.

Taehyung dared to glance up again, his eyes catching Jungkook’s for just a moment before they both looked away like it hadn’t happened. His heart raced, and he immediately turned back to Jisoo, trying to act as though nothing was wrong.

Meanwhile, Jimin sat beside Taehyung, scrolling through his phone absently, completely unaware of the tension building around him. But when he finally looked up, his gaze fell across the table, and suddenly, everything froze.

His heart dropped.

There, sitting across from him, was him. Min Yoongi.

Jimin’s breath hitched in his throat, and it felt like someone had poured ice-cold water over his entire body. Yoongi was staring directly at him, his dark, piercing eyes locked onto Jimin like they always had, like he could see right through him, straight into his soul. It was the same intense gaze that had once made Jimin feel like he was the only person in the world. Now, it just felt like a storm waiting to break.

Jimin’s hands trembled slightly as he tried to keep his composure. He had spent so long convincing himself that he was over Yoongi, that the past was behind them. But seeing Yoongi now, looking just as devastatingly calm and unreadable as always, shattered that illusion in an instant.

Jimin couldn’t tear his eyes away from him, even though he wanted to. It was as if Yoongi had frozen him in place with that stare, like all the emotions Jimin had buried deep down were suddenly flooding to the surface. His heart pounded in his chest, his mind racing with memories he wished he could forget.

Next to him, Taehyung noticed the change in Jimin immediately. Without saying a word, Taehyung placed his hand gently on Jimin’s thigh, breaking the spell that had trapped him. Jimin blinked, snapping out of the trance, and quickly turned his head, tearing his gaze away from Yoongi. He looked toward Seokjin, desperate for some kind of distraction, some way to escape the emotions crashing down on him.

But all he could see was Seokjin’s tense expression as he and Namjoon stood at the head of the table, their faces tight with nervous energy.

Yoongi, meanwhile, felt like his entire world was spinning. His usual calm, collected exterior was beginning to crack. Seeing Jimin after all this time had thrown him off in ways he hadn’t anticipated. The pain he had tried so hard to bury for months was suddenly back in full force, pounding in his chest, making it hard to breathe.

He stared at Jimin, his heart screaming at him to say something, to do something. But he couldn’t. All he could do was sit there, watching as Jimin turned away from him, looking at Seokjin with an expression that could only be described as...betrayal.

Yoongi clenched his jaw, the pain inside him almost unbearable. He had thought he was prepared for this. He had convinced himself that seeing Jimin again wouldn’t hurt as much. But now, sitting across from him, the distance between them greater than it had ever been, Yoongi realized just how wrong he had been.

Before anyone could say anything, Namjoon and Seokjin stood up, drawing the attention of the entire room. The murmurs of conversation died down as everyone looked toward them, sensing that something big was about to happen.

Namjoon cleared his throat, glancing at Seokjin for reassurance before speaking. "Thank you all for coming tonight. I know this is a bit sudden, but Seokjin and I have some important news to share with all of you."

Seokjin gave a small, tight smile, though it didn’t reach his eyes. "Yes, it’s something we’ve been wanting to tell you all for a while, but...the timing had to be right."

The tension in the room thickened as everyone exchanged confused glances. Jimin’s heart was still racing from his encounter with Yoongi, and now, hearing Namjoon’s serious tone, he felt his anxiety spike even more. Taehyung, too, sat up straighter, his eyes flicking between Namjoon and Seokjin, sensing that whatever they were about to say was going to change everything.

Namjoon took a deep breath, his voice steady but laced with tension. "Three months ago, I asked Seokjin to marry me."

A collective gasp echoed through the room. The shock was immediate. Jaws dropped. Eyes widened. No one could believe what they were hearing.

Jungkook’s eyes snapped to Namjoon, his usually impassive face showing a flicker of surprise. Taehyung’s mouth fell open, his gaze darting between Namjoon and Seokjin, trying to process the news.

Seokjin nodded, his expression softening slightly as he looked at Namjoon. "And I said yes."

The room erupted. Voices overlapped, questions flying from all directions. Jimin’s hands gripped the edge of the table, his mind spinning. He hadn’t seen this coming. Not at all.

Yoongi, on the other hand, sat frozen, his mind a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. He barely registered the rest of Namjoon’s words as he continued.

"And as a result, we’ve decided to merge our law firms," Namjoon announced, raising his voice over the noise. "We’ll be one firm moving forward—Kim’s Law."

The room fell into stunned silence.

And then, chaos broke loose.

Jungkook stood up, his eyes darkening with disbelief as he tried to process the sudden bombshell. Taehyung looked shell-shocked, his usual calm exterior shattered as he tried to make sense of what was happening. Across the table, Jimin’s eyes were wide with shock, and Yoongi’s knuckles turned white as he clenched his fists under the table.

Everything they had known was about to change, and no one was ready for it.
