Title: "The Weight of Secrets"

Summary: You tell your boyfriend Bucky, that you are Tony's little sister.

Bucharest was quiet tonight, the soft hum of the city outside barely audible through the thin walls of Bucky's apartment. He liked it that way-quiet, away from the chaos and noise of the life he once lived. Here, he was just another face in the crowd, another person trying to move on from things better left buried.

At least, that's what he had convinced himself.

Until you moved in next door.

Bucky had been avoiding people for so long, isolating himself to keep his fractured mind from falling apart again. But something about her had drawn him in. Maybe it was her kindness, or the way she'd smile when they passed each other in the hallway. Or maybe it was just that she treated him like anyone else-not like a ghost from the past, but as if he were just another man trying to make it through life.

They had started with small, friendly conversations. She'd offer him coffee sometimes when he came home late from work, and he'd help her fix things around her apartment when they broke down. Over time, it turned into more-dinners together, long talks, and walks through the park as the city lights flickered to life in the evening. Bucky found himself opening up in ways he hadn't thought possible, and Y/n was always there, patient and understanding, never pushing him to reveal too much.

Eventually, they began to blur the lines between friendship and something deeper, until one night, when they'd both been sitting on her couch, Bucky had leaned in and kissed her. She had kissed him back, and for the first time in years, Bucky felt a sliver of hope-like maybe, just maybe, he could have a life again.

Months passed, and Bucky had started to feel something he thought he would never have again: happiness. But even in those moments, the shadows of his past still lurked. He had never told Y/n the full truth about who he was or what he had done as the Winter Soldier. The weight of it gnawed at him, a constant reminder that the life he was trying to build with her was balanced on a lie.

One evening, after another quiet dinner together, you sat across from Bucky with a soft smile on her face.

"I've been thinking about taking a trip back to the States," she said, stirring her tea. "It's been a while since I visited my brother."

Bucky tensed. He had known she was from America, but she had never mentioned her family in detail before. "Your brother?" he asked, trying to keep his voice steady.

"Yeah, Tony." She grinned, a little sheepishly. "You probably know him-Tony Stark? Iron Man?"

Bucky's stomach dropped. His hand froze mid-air, the fork in his grasp suddenly feeling like it weighed a ton. "Tony Stark...?" he echoed, his voice low, filled with a dread that clawed at his insides.
