Title: "Can I just stay here?"

Summary: Romancing in rain.

The sky had been overcast all day, but neither Bucky nor Y/n had expected the rain to come so suddenly. They had been walking through the park, lost in conversation and laughter, when the first few drops started falling. Bucky glanced up at the sky, frowning at the dark clouds rolling in overhead.

"I think we're about to get soaked," he said, casting a quick look around for any nearby shelter.

Y/n giggled as the raindrops began to fall faster, pattering against the ground. "We can make it back to the car if we run!"

But before they could take off, the rain turned into a downpour. Bucky grabbed Y/n's hand, his reflexes fast as he pulled her toward the nearest tree. They ducked under the thick branches, the leaves above providing a bit of cover from the rain. Water dripped from the edges of the leaves, but for the most part, they were protected.

Y/n was laughing, her cheeks flushed as she looked up at Bucky, rain still dripping from her hair. "Guess we weren't fast enough."

Bucky smiled at her, his heart skipping a beat. There was something about the way she looked right now-her eyes bright with amusement, strands of hair sticking to her face-that made the moment feel electric. He couldn't tear his eyes away from her, the way her laughter rang out against the sound of the rain.

"Guess not," he murmured, his voice soft as he took in every detail of her.

Y/n's laughter faded as she noticed the way Bucky was looking at her. Her heart gave a little flutter in her chest, her breath catching slightly. There was something in his eyes-something intense, something that made her pulse quicken.

For a moment, the world around them seemed to still. The rain continued to pour, but under the shelter of the tree, it was just the two of them, standing close, their hands still entwined.

"Bucky..." Y/n whispered, her voice barely audible over the rain.

He stepped closer, his free hand reaching up to gently brush a wet strand of hair from her face. His fingers lingered on her cheek, his touch soft but deliberate. "You're beautiful, you know that?"

Y/n's heart raced at the sincerity in his voice, the way his eyes were locked on hers as if she were the only thing that mattered in the world. She opened her mouth to say something, but the words didn't come. Instead, she found herself leaning into his touch, her breath shallow.

Bucky's gaze flicked down to her lips, and for a brief moment, he hesitated. He didn't want to rush this, didn't want to ruin what was happening between them. But the way Y/n was looking at him, the way her lips parted slightly, as if waiting for him, made his resolve waver.

Without thinking any further, Bucky closed the small gap between them, his lips brushing against hers in a soft, tentative kiss.

Y/n's eyes fluttered shut as she melted into the kiss, her hand tightening around his. The world seemed to fall away as their lips moved together, slow and gentle at first, as if they were both savoring the moment. The rain continued to fall around them, the sound of it creating a perfect backdrop to the intensity of the kiss.

Bucky's other hand moved to the small of her back, pulling her closer as the kiss deepened, becoming more urgent. There was something so perfect about being here with her, something that made him forget everything else.

Y/n felt her heart swell in her chest, her body warming despite the cool rain. She had always felt safe with Bucky, always felt like there was something more between them, and now here it was-everything she had hoped for and more.

When they finally pulled apart, they were both breathless, their foreheads resting against each other's as they tried to catch their breath.

"Wow..." Y/n whispered, a soft smile tugging at her lips. "I guess I didn't see that coming."

Bucky chuckled softly, his thumb brushing lightly over her cheek. "Neither did I."

They stood there for a moment, just holding each other as the rain continued to fall around them. Bucky's heart was still racing, and he could feel Y/n's heartbeat matching his. He pressed a soft kiss to her forehead, his lips lingering there as he closed his eyes.

"I've been wanting to do that for a long time," he admitted, his voice low and full of emotion.

Y/n smiled, her arms wrapping around him as she leaned into his embrace. "Me too," she whispered, her voice soft but full of sincerity.

They stayed like that, wrapped in each other's arms under the tree, the rain falling all around them but feeling like the most perfect place in the world. It didn't matter that they were a little wet, didn't matter that they were stranded in the park. In this moment, all that mattered was each other.

The storm could rage on, but they had found shelter in each other.
