Title: "Love, Laughs & a Little Too Much Whiskey."

Summary: You went out with your friends to a party, ended up heavily drunk, and start acting all silly adorable around your husband, Bucky.

It was late, and the streets outside were quiet, save for the distant hum of the city night. Bucky had spent most of the evening at home, enjoying the peace and quiet, waiting for Y/n to return from her night out with friends. He trusted her completely, but when she had sent him a few incoherent texts filled with typos, he had a feeling the night had taken a turn toward some heavy drinking.

Bucky had just settled onto the couch when his phone buzzed again. He glanced at the screen to see Y/n's name flashing. Picking up the phone, he smiled to himself.

"Hey, doll," he answered.

There was a pause, followed by a soft giggle on the other end of the line. "Buckyyyyy..." Y/n slurred, her voice slow and sing-songy. "I think... I might be a little drunk."

Bucky chuckled softly. "Yeah, I got that impression. Are you okay? Where are you?"

"I'm... um... somewhere," Y/n giggled again. "Oh! Outside! Yeah, I'm outside."

"Outside where?" Bucky asked patiently, trying not to laugh as he imagined her swaying in place, probably giggling to herself.

"Home, silly!" Y/n said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Bucky stood up from the couch, heading for the door. "Alright, I'm coming down to get you. Just stay put, okay?"

"Okay!" she chimed, sounding like she was having the time of her life.

He made his way downstairs to the entrance of their building, and sure enough, there was Y/n, leaning against the wall with a goofy smile plastered on her face. She spotted him instantly, her eyes lighting up like he was some kind of superhero.

"Bucky!" she exclaimed, throwing her arms out as if welcoming him with the grandest of gestures. "There you are! I was waiting!"

Bucky grinned, walking up to her. "You alright there, sweetheart?"

Y/n nodded enthusiastically. "I am great!" She leaned forward and poked his chest. "You know what's funny? You. You're so... so tall! How are you so tall?"

Bucky chuckled, wrapping an arm around her to steady her as she swayed a little on her feet. "Genetics, maybe? C'mon, let's get you inside before you fall over."

As they walked toward the elevator, Y/n giggled again, resting her head on Bucky's shoulder. "You smell so nice. Like... like home. I missed you."

Bucky's heart softened at her words, even though he knew she wouldn't remember most of this tomorrow. He pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head. "Missed you too, doll."

Inside the elevator, Y/n's attention shifted from him to her reflection in the mirrored walls. She squinted at herself, then suddenly gasped. "Bucky! Look! It's me! But in the wall! How did I get in there?"

Bucky bit back a laugh, amused by her tipsy fascination. "That's called a reflection, sweetheart."

"Whoa," Y/n whispered, poking the glass. "I look weird."

"You look beautiful," Bucky said with a soft smile.

Y/n beamed at him, her eyes sparkling. "You're so sweet! I'm gonna marry you again."

Bucky couldn't help but laugh at that. "I'll hold you to that."

By the time they made it back to their apartment, Y/n was starting to sway more, and Bucky had to guide her gently toward the couch.

"Okay, let's get you some water," Bucky said, moving toward the kitchen.

But before he could get far, Y/n grabbed his hand, pulling him back toward her. "Nooooo, wait!" she whined, her bottom lip jutting out in a dramatic pout. "Don't leave me."

Bucky turned, kneeling in front of her and brushing a strand of hair from her face. "I'm just getting you some water, doll. I'll be right back."

Y/n shook her head, her eyes wide and earnest. "But I need to tell you something."

Bucky raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh yeah? What's that?"

She leaned in close, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "You're my favorite person in the whole world."

Bucky smiled softly, his heart melting at the sincerity in her eyes, even in her drunken state. "You're my favorite person too, Y/n."

"Promise?" she asked, her expression so serious it made Bucky chuckle.

"I promise," he said, kissing her forehead. "Now, how about that water?"

She nodded, satisfied with his answer, and Bucky made a quick trip to the kitchen. When he returned with the glass, Y/n was already halfway slumped over on the couch, her eyes drooping.

"Here, drink this," Bucky said, sitting beside her and handing her the water.

Y/n took a sip, but then put the glass down, turning to face him with a dreamy smile. "You know what?"

"What's that?"

"You're... really good at taking care of me," she said, her voice soft and full of affection.

Bucky felt a warmth spread through his chest. "That's because I love you," he said simply.

Y/n's eyes lit up again, and she reached out, cupping his face in her hands. "I love you too. Soooo much. Like... infinity much."

Bucky grinned, leaning into her touch. "Infinity much, huh? That's a lot."

"It is!" she said, as if this was the most profound thing she'd ever said. "You're the best thing that ever happened to me, Bucky Barnes. And I'm gonna marry you again, remember?"

Bucky chuckled, pulling her gently into his arms. "Yeah, I remember."

She snuggled into his chest, her body finally relaxing as sleep started to claim her. "Don't forget," she mumbled, her voice fading as she drifted off. "Gonna marry you again..."

Bucky smiled, holding her close as her breathing evened out. He stayed there for a while, stroking her hair and watching her sleep, his heart full.

Even in her drunken state, Y/n managed to remind him of just how much she loved him, and how much he loved her in return. He kissed her forehead one last time before gently laying her down on the couch, covering her with a blanket.

As he watched her sleep, Bucky couldn't help but smile. Life wasn't perfect, and there were still plenty of challenges ahead, but moments like this made everything worth it. Moments where love, laughter, and a little too much whiskey were all it took to make him feel like the luckiest man in the world.
