Title: "Reckless Trio."

Summary: You and your bestfriends Bucky and Sam, whom you call idiots, go in a mission and due to them trying to play the "We don't need backup-" role, you end up getting hurt and you are angry at them.

The warehouse was dark, the kind of dark that didn't let you see your hand in front of your face. The air was heavy with the smell of rust and old concrete. They had chased the trail of leads to this rundown place-a nexus of lowlifes and dirty dealings. Sam had gone ahead to scout, but Bucky and Y/n stayed close behind, their instincts sharp.

Y/n had warned them a dozen times. Don't trust Zemo. Never trust Zemo. But here they were, tangled in his web again, just as he pulled the rug out from under them.

The sound of gunfire erupted from the far corner of the room, shattering the silence, and before anyone could react, Y/n threw herself in front of Bucky. The bullet caught her square in the shoulder, and she stumbled back, the impact hard enough to knock the breath from her lungs. Pain radiated through her arm, sharp and relentless, but the adrenaline in her system kept her on her feet.

"Damn it, Y/n!" Bucky growled, his voice thick with frustration and worry. He grabbed her by the waist to keep her upright. "You're hit!"

Y/n winced but shook her head, waving him off as she pressed her hand to her bleeding shoulder. "I'm fine," she snapped, though her voice was strained with pain. "And don't you dare start lecturing me about being reckless!"

Sam landed beside them after taking out the shooter with ease, his wings retracting as he surveyed the situation. His eyes widened when he saw the blood soaking through Y/n's jacket. "What the hell happened?"

"What happened," Y/n hissed, eyes flashing with anger, "is that you two idiots trusted Zemo again! How many times are we going to do this? How many times is he going to screw us over before you learn?"

Her face flushed with anger and pain, and her voice rose above the din of gunfire and chaos. Sam and Bucky exchanged glances, both looking slightly chastened, but neither was brave enough to interrupt her when she was like this.

"You were supposed to watch him!" Y/n continued, her tone like acid. She reached into her jacket with her uninjured arm, pulling out her gun and firing off a round at another approaching thug. "But no, let's trust Zemo again. Maybe this time he'll play nice, right?"

Bucky clenched his jaw, his blue eyes stormy with guilt as he tightened his grip on her. He didn't try to argue, didn't try to defend himself. He couldn't. She was right. Again.
