Title: "Once upon a time in Romania."
Summary: You can never go wrong with a drink, can you? That same ol' drink in some countries can make you end up being the wifey of a hottie hubby with a swimmer's body.
The dimly lit tavern echoed with laughter and the clinking of glasses, the warm glow of candlelight illuminating the rustic wooden beams above. Y/n leaned back in her chair, a half-empty glass of plum brandy in hand, watching the locals dance. The music was lively, a mix of traditional Romanian folk and something more modern, filling the air with an infectious energy.
Across the table, Bucky Barnes, a charming stranger with a mysterious past, raised his glass. His dark hair fell over his forehead in a way that was effortlessly attractive, and his deep blue eyes sparkled with mischief. "To new friends," he toasted, his voice smooth and inviting.
"To new friends," Y/n echoed, clinking her glass against his, feeling the warmth of the liquor spread through her. The night had started innocently enough, a chance encounter between two wanderers in this picturesque village, but as the drinks flowed, inhibitions faded.
As the hours passed, they shared stories of their lives, laughter ringing through the air. The chemistry between them was undeniable, a magnetic pull that drew them closer. At some point, the tavern grew quieter, leaving only the two of them in their own world.
"Why don't we get out of here?" Bucky suggested, his voice low, a hint of mischief in his tone. Y/n felt her heart race at the suggestion, excitement and curiosity blending into a potent cocktail of desire.
They stumbled out into the cool night air, the moon shining brightly above, casting an ethereal glow on the cobblestone streets. As they wandered through the village, Bucky's hand found hers, their fingers intertwining as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Before long, they found themselves at a quaint little inn. The atmosphere was charged, anticipation hanging in the air. The moment they stepped into the dimly lit room, the world outside faded away. Bucky pulled her close, their lips crashing together in a passionate kiss that sent sparks flying.
The night unfolded like a dream-clothes discarded in a whirlwind of laughter and whispered secrets, the bed soft beneath them as they lost themselves in each other's arms. It was wild and carefree, a beautiful escape from reality, and they reveled in the heat of the moment, the sound of their breaths mingling in the air.
When the first light of dawn crept through the window, Y/n stirred, the warmth of the sun against her skin slowly pulling her from the depths of sleep. Blinking awake, she felt a strange weight on her left hand.
Turning her gaze, she froze. A wedding ring glimmered back at her, and panic began to set in as she noticed the matching band on Bucky's hand, still asleep beside her. She shifted her gaze, her heart pounding as her eyes landed on a crumpled piece of paper on the bedside table.
"Wedding Certificate," it read in elegant script.
"What the hell..." Y/n murmured, her voice a mixture of shock and disbelief. She quickly scanned the room, her heart racing faster with each detail-the elegant wedding dress she vaguely remembered trying on in a fit of drunken laughter, the tailored suit Bucky had worn for the evening, now discarded haphazardly on the floor.
Bucky stirred beside her, groaning as he sat up and rubbed his eyes. When he finally noticed the ring on his finger and the paper in Y/n's hands, his expression shifted from confusion to sheer panic.
"What did we do?" he exclaimed, running a hand through his tousled hair.
"Clearly, we got married," Y/n said, her voice a mix of incredulity and amusement. "What were we thinking?"
"I don't know," Bucky replied, a sheepish grin spreading across his face. "But I have to admit, I've had crazier nights. You're not mad, are you?"
Y/n couldn't help but laugh, the absurdity of the situation washing over her like a wave. "Mad? No, just surprised. I mean, we don't even know each other!"
"Well, we could get to know each other now," he suggested, raising an eyebrow playfully. "I hear that's what newlyweds do."
With a smirk, Y/n tossed the wedding certificate onto the bed, deciding that, for today at least, they could embrace this unexpected twist in their adventure. The reality of their situation loomed over them, but beneath it all was an undeniable connection that was worth exploring, no matter how unorthodox the circumstances.
As they shared stories and laughter, the world outside faded away again. Whatever this was-a spontaneous marriage, a drunken escapade-it was a story they would carry with them, an unforgettable memory in the enchanting land of Romania.
And perhaps, just perhaps, it could be the start of something beautiful.
