3rd pov

The Trollhunter group turns down a smaller cavern, into a much more open room. In the middle is some sort of altar with what looks like a dead body.

“Great Globus, it's him.” Blinky gasps.

“Who?” Cosette asks, looking at the old- and likely dead- guy.

“Is it really?” Claire says, a confused look crossing her face.

“Must be.” Aaarrrgghh nods.

“Do you know who that is?” Cosette asks Talon.

“Merlin.” Jim says before Talon can even tell her, approaching the old man.

“Is he gone now?” Bular asks, poking his head out of the basement door.

“Yeah, he is.” Barbara says, walking over to the door with a nod.

She opens it all the way, allowing for him to come further into the house. He stands next to the kitchen door.

“I still don’t understand how you’re still alive- And helping the Trollhunter.” Strickler says, crossing his arms as he glares at the large troll.

“You don’t need to know.” Bular huffs, crossing his arms.

“Well, deary, will you tell us why you’re here?” The little old lady, Toby’s Nana, Nancy, asks.

“...Because I had a bad feeling about what my father has been planning.” He grumbles.

“Your father is… Gunmar, right?” Barbara asks. “The evil troll king?”

Bular nods, “Indeed. Your daughter, Cosette, is the reason I’m having second thoughts about being on his side.”

“How so?” Barbara asks. “Wait, how do you even know Cosette? She’s been missing.. No, she was turned into a troll… By you.”

She points an accusing finger at Strickler, who holds his hands up innocently.

“Now, Barbara.. I didn’t… I have no excuse for turning her into a troll, but my actions were heavily influenced by Angor Rot and-”

“Like hell they were!” Bular interrupts, growling at him. “You never liked Cosette. Your intentions were clear the moment we tried opening Killahead bridge before its capture.”

“But things have changed-”

You haven’t changed.” Bular snarls.

“If I haven’t changed, then you haven’t either! You’re working with the Trollhunter as well!” Strickler snaps.

“I’m working with Cosette and Talon. They saved my life, and they are my friends. The Trollhunter is only lucky Talon doesn’t live up to his reputation.” Bular huffs.

“Would you two stop acting like children? Alright, who is Talon?” Barbara interrupts.

“Talon? Talon is a dragon.” Bular scoffs. “Cosette’s best friend- besides myself.”

“But you hurt her-”

“Only because I was convinced she couldn’t feel pain. I didn’t mean to hurt her…” Bular says, glancing away. “I really didn’t. And I’ve apologized a million times now.”

A long moment of silence, but the parents all have questions they want answers to.

“So.. This “Talon”... Is a, uh, dragon?” Ophelia, Claire’s mom, asks.
