3rd pov

Cosette was trying not to piss her pants. She realized now that Bular was a giant hulking hunk of rock, that could and likely would smash her into the ground.

However, she had something to remark about his words.

"I'm not a damn witch." She says angrily.

Now, that was obviously very stupid, but what she said next could be considered worse.

"You look like you have no friends."

Like, really? Girl, he has you at his mercy and that is all you could say?

Bular growls at her words, clutching his free fist into a ball.

"Ack! Sorry, I meant to say that in a nicer way!" She says as he raises his fist. "I was meaning, do you want a friend? Like, I could totally be your friend."

Talon could only groan at his charge. Making friends with the enemy. She was good at that. She didn't even need to say that to stay alive, but she was doing so anyways.

"Why would I need a fleshling as a friend." The troll demands.

"That's exactly what Vendel said. Only, the reason was a lot different than now." Cosette mutters before realizing her small talk was making him angrier. "Look, you don't need me, but I'm a pretty good friend when you need one. Like, if worse comes to worse, I'll have Talon protect you. And you can tell me about any emotional problems you have."

"Who is Talon?" Bular says in a huff.

Talon does his thing and shows himself to the GummGumm prince, although much less happier as he swirls angrily in the air.

"A dragon? I have slain many in my time." He says with a wave of his hand.

"I am not simply a dragon, Bular the Vicious. I am the Evil Dragon of the Mountains. I'm sure that you know me, as your father once did." Talon says as he swirls around Bular. "And you are holding my charge."

"Puny. Why would a dragon protect such a weak human." Bular scoffs. "Witch, release this illusion."

"I'm just a normal human." Cosette groans. "I have no magic. Trust me, I wouldn't be in your grasp if I could do magic."

The troll glares at her before Talon sets an illusion around them, switching the house out for a forest. Bular drops Cosette in confusion, looking around.

"Where did you teleport us, human?" He growls as he turns to look back at her.

Only, Cosette is gone. He looks around more and spots her running into the woods. He follows her, closing in quickly.

Once they are both in the woods outside of the Lake residence, Talon releases the illusion, blending it in with the normal woods they usually see.

Talon joins his charge once again by turning into a ring on her finger. He forces her to stop as he uses another illusion to make Bular see her keep running.

They watch him leap over them and continue chasing a second Cosette before they soon disappear.

Unknown to Cosette, the other Cosette was simply getting faster to disappear from Bular's view. The GummGumm roars in anger when she does, continuing on to find the human.

Talon releases the illusion and lets out a breath he didn't know he could hold.

"Let's go home. He'll be busy all night." Talon says as he removed himself from her finger.

He grows in size until he's large enough to fit her on his back. He lets her climb on and he flies into Barbara's house through the open back door.

He gently closes the door behind himself before flying up the stairs in silence.
