"ZION!" Y/N shouted as he landed over a few hundred metres away, as a result of Zion's explosion. He could see a mere silhouette of Zion, who looked extremely small from this far, but he could tell that it wasn't going well for the white-haired boy.
However, from his injuries and the position he was in, it was impossible for him to get there in time. Nonetheless, Y/N had to try. No matter what Zion said, or what he intended on doing, Y/N was not going to let him die for his sake. He refused to let that happen. Wasn't Zion aware that his life was worth so much more than playing the role of a sacrificed hero-in-training?
Somebody, however, placed their hand on his shoulder before he could try and move, and poured some kind of liquid down his throat. Immediately he knew who it was, and he looked up at Carbon as he gave Y/N a healing potion, helping him regenerate some of his wounds. At the very least, while he wasn't completely healed, Y/N could still stand up.
He promptly rose to his feet, pointed to where Zion was and began, "Carbon, we've got to—"
"Shh," Carbon covered his mouth, keeping him from saying any more words, and shoved something into his hand. "We can save him with this."
Looking at it, Y/N blinked with confusion and held up the yellow earring Carbon handed him. "What's an earring going to do?" he questioned immediately, sceptical of whatever Carbon was planning.
Carbon presented him with his own yellow earring, and put it on his right ear. "With these, we'll fuse together temporarily," he answered as he gestured for Y/N to put his on.
"Fuse...?" Y/N repeated blankly. "We're going to fuse together by wearing these...?"
"It's the only way we can pull this off, Y/N. It's the only way we can save Zion," Carbon told him firmly. "But we've got a short time limit when we fuse, so we'll need to handle this quickly."
"We can save Zion..." Y/N repeated as he stared at his own reflection through the earring for a moment, before he began putting it on. "Let's do this." Carbon grinned at him, as their earrings started to glow a blue colour, similar to Speed.
The same colour surrounded and engulfed them in its light as they both levitated up a foot or two, and then were flown into the other face-first. Y/N had a wary look but Carbon's grin was contagious, causing him to smile too. Then, the instant that they collided with the other, a blinding beam of light erupted from them and struck the sky.
The beam of light disappeared as quickly as it had appeared, and in its wake remained a new hero, who was neither Y/N nor Carbon. However, he possessed a mixture of the twins' features, particularly their minor differences. While Y/N had somewhat longer and wavier hair, Carbon's was short and straight. This new hero had Carbon's short hair, but Y/N's waviness. This new hero had Y/N's scar on the left side of his face as well as his horns, and bore a confident grin on his face that Y/N and Carbon couldn't hope to achieve.
"All right! Time to end this, once and for all!" the Fusion Hero: Carbide declared as he clenched his fists, and the familiar purple aura of Viletras formed around him before he bursted from the ground, which cracked under his overwhelming power, and shot towards Akui.
...
Y/N can be seen looking down at a seemingly endless pit, surrounded by a pitch-black void, his face shadowed and unseeable. The boy's body language shows his emotions, nevertheless, as a single tear drops from his face and lands on the ground with a quiet, yet audible, splat. When it hits the black ground, it suddenly expands into a diamond-blue sea, as the sky transitions into a starry night-sky, the Moon prevalent amongst everything else. The scene is then covered by the title card.
