I live in a world, but not just some ordinary world. Well, it sort of is, but anyway... 80% of the entire population have these abilities, known and named as 'Quirks'. The fantasy of heroes and villains became a reality, because of it. But I didn't mention the specifics of the other 20%... They were known as the 'Quirkless', a group of people who hadn't gotten a Quirk when they were supposed to.
That was the cruel and unfair world that I found myself being born into. And just like various others before me, I was born without a Quirk.
...
Did I still believe that I could become a hero...? Well, it's complicated, really. Although there was a fire burning inside of me, a motivation beyond any other... something was still stopping me.
My school was not the best. Why? There was someone, who was feared by all of the people in the school. Even teachers. He was practically the highest status in school, excluding the principal. After he arrived, and became what he was, everyone's school life changed. You were either with him or against him. There wasn't any in between.
So, unsurprisingly, almost everyone tried to become 'friends' with him, though it was more of a... servant to king type of a relationship if you were accepted. So, he became the most popular and feared person in school.
But you must be wondering why he was so feared. He has two Quirks. It was something extremely rare, something very few achieved.
His first Quirk: Power Perception
This Quirk grants him the ability to know a person's Quirk, weaknesses, and saves the skills of that specific person. So, we can use someone like... All Might, the Number One Hero and the Symbol of Peace, as an example for the last one. His very obvious move, yet still dangerous, is his 'Smash', so if this were to be seen by the user of Power Perception, then that would be a permanent memory when they see All Might again. But it's mainly useful for non-heroes that don't have known skills with their Quirks.
His second Quirk: Neglect
This Quirk grants him the ability of immunity after getting damaged seven times by a Quirk for a minute. Once he is damaged seven times, he also gains a boost in strength and speed, and heals a bit. This means that Quirks can be rendered completely useless if they rely on damage rather than other factors.
And in a world where so many have Quirks, why wouldn't a school's worth of people be afraid of him? Why wouldn't they fear the boy named Athos?
...
A boy was looking down at the city streets from his balcony, a frown on his face. Cars of different colours and sizes were zooming down roads, and pedestrians seemed to be walking with friends and family, with some of them on their phones. It made the boy wonder something...
Do all of them have Quirks?
Such a simple question, but it meant something to him. Were there any Quirkless people down there, and how were they getting on with life?
He took out his phone to take a look at the time. He had about... four minutes before he needed to get going.
'Another day,' he sighed, shaking his head. 'Another day of hel- I mean, school...' He took a photo of himself, where he was simply looking at it blankly, and examined his looks.
He had H/C (hair colour) hair, E/C (eye colour eyes), and was wearing his hell- school uniform. His neck was extremely uncomfortable due to the collar, so he tried to adjust it. It was still uncomfortable.
