Zion clutched the unconscious body of Y/N L/N, who had half of his face painted in his own blood, his hero costume drenched in his own blood, the floor covered in his own blood. From across the room, Nightmare chuckled, various strands of hair soaked in Y/N's blood.
Zion was shaking rapidly, the sight of his friend in such pain angering him, the shock that his friend had suffered through that. He felt like he couldn't breathe, and a surge of guilt overtook his insides, as he realised that it was all of his fault. He told Y/N to go in to try and break through her defence. He didn't help him. He let Y/N get hurt.
"You'll... You- YOU'RE GOING TO PAY FOR THAT!" he shouted at Nightmare, one of his eyes beginning to water, his teeth clenched. "DAMN YOU!"
"Damn me, huh?" she repeated with a sadistic grin, enjoying the mental pain she could see within Zion and the physical pain she could see on Y/N. "Damn me, when it was you who never tried to help your friend? Instead, you simply let him do all the work while you prepared a 'finishing move'. And where has that got you?"
"Sh-Shut up... Shut... UP!" he yelled, a tear dripping from his eye and landing on his cheek.
"Aww, are you going to cwy?" she asked in a baby-like voice, mocking his sadness.
He let out a scream, and his hand nimbly moved to the card device on his right. Zion was in a combined state of anger and sadness, blinded by both emotions so far he couldn't think straight. He threw an Explosion Card at Nightmare, but that attack proved to be futile when a strand of hair cut it in half when it was in mid-air. The pieces of the card landed on the floor, but never activated.
"Did somebody think they were extremely talented?" Nightmare questioned mockingly, slicing every single card thrown at her to shreds. "Is that how a little spoiled brat like you was created?"
"I'm not spoiled!" he screamed.
...
He slid down the slide with a loud giggle. Zion was around the age of four, and enjoying his time playing in the park. His parents were, of course, supervising him, with his father being close to him just in case something happened. Zion's mother, meanwhile, was on the phone with her boss, discussing some plans for work that Zion never understood.
At his young age, the boy didn't have a Quirk yet, nor were his eyes red and his hair white. Zion had dark brown hair instead and had light cyan eyes that seemed to shine sometimes. Despite being quite tall when he was older, the boy was of average height for a four year old, which was not a surprise at all.
Zion winced and scratched his left wrist with the opposite hand; his wrist would itch occasionally from time to time but he didn't know why. The possibility of it being his Quirk was definitely impossible since the Quirks of his parents had nothing to do with wrists.
His Father's Quirk was named Diamond Skin, which was a self-explanatory name by itself. He still retained the ordinary human skin, unlike other people with similar Quirks, but he could also transform his skin into hard diamond that could regrow if broken off. It would take some time to do this, though. This was the secret to their wealth.
His Mother's Quirk was named Quick Feet. This Quirk allowed her to run extremely fast, past the limits of a regular human easily. However, it also means that her stamina is depleted just as fast as she runs, resulting in a possible injury if she were to stop so suddenly from a lack of energy.
Zion's was unlike the two. He didn't have Diamond Skin, Quick Feet, or even a mix of the two. When it fully manifested, it was late at night. Previously, Zion was asleep, enjoying a nice dream he was experiencing when... He suddenly woke up.
