Music blared loudly in the apartment as the two sisters cooked dinner together, Alina was responsible for cutting the vegetables while Tayana prepped the meat for their stir fry, Tayana noticed how happy Alina was tonight, she was happy she was distracted from the whole situation but also slightly concerned.
"So what did you get up to today?" Tayana asked inquisitively.
"Well, I went for my shoot, that went great, then I went to see a friend."
Tayana raised an eyebrow suspiciously "A friend?" Alina shook her head and giggled.
"Remember the guy from last night?"
"Oh him? He was fine as fuck." She said turning over in surprise "What's with you being attracted to bad boys?"
Alina blushed slightly and shook her head "We're just friends."
"Bullshit, you know there's a video I saw online, when he was defending you from Diego, either he's a really nice dude or he wants a chance with you." She had a point, but Alina was sure Dominic was just a nice guy.
"So what did you two do hm?"
"Well, I was avoiding the paparazzi so we just hung out at his place." Tayana almost couldn't believe it.
"Oh really? You're not helping your case by the way, there is no way you're just friends, but I'll let you believe what you want to believe for now." She said in a teasing manner to which Alina rolled his eyes.
"I mean..he is attractive, really tall, muscular and has these eyes that you can just drown in..you know I told him that I'd fuck him." Her sister's jaw dropped, was the same Alina she always knew, she chuckled in disbelief.
"You did not.."
"It was just a discussion..we were talking about sex and he asked me how sex was with Diego and I told him how..it wasn't so enjoyable sometimes and he says sex is meant to be enjoyed so...I asked him to show me." Her eyes widened in surprise, she couldn't believe it.
"I think you've lost it, okay listen baby sis." She put her hands on her shoulders and brought her close "Its okay to find people attractive and want to fuck them but you don't actually go and tell them you dumbass, he's gonna think that that's all you want to do." Alina felt embarrassed, in her eyes, she was just telling the truth and wanted it to come off as a compliment, she had to apologize.
Tayana shook her head and turned back to the stove "You're gonna be the death of me Alina, you need to take it slow, you're just coming from this intense heartbreak and messy situation, do what you need to do to cope but..you need to slow down." Alina felt slightly frustrated, she was finally happy and Tayana was upset with that too, was she supposed to remain in that jail forever? She was confused.
"But I don't say anything about the multiple one night stands you have..." She said under her breath, Tayana turned.
"What was that?"
"Nothing." Alina said, focusing on cutting her vegetables in peace, she didn't want anymore problems.
After some time as they set their plates, there was a knock on the door to which Alina opened the door.
"Hey hun, how are you?" Selene walked in and kissed Alina on both sides of the cheek, bringing her into a tight hug before she moved to hug Tayana "Hey sweet thing!"
Once they were all settled at the dining table, they began to talk, Alina kept her head down, knowing the talk would all be about her, Selene held Alina's hand.
"How you holding up my love?" She asked with genuine concern about her best friend.
"Uh..I'm okay I guess, I just need everyone to stop talking about it, you know what I mean?" She said sadly.
"You can't just ignore it Alina, give yourself time to process it, don't ignore it, it still happened and it's okay to realise and process that." Tayana said, trying her best to be supportive, Alina let out a heavy sigh, slightly holding back tears.
"Can we talk about something else?... Please?." The room fell silent for a moment as they thought about something to say.
"Let's plan a girl's trip to Japan, I have to be there anyway for work, I think we all need a break, what do you think?" Alina smiled, it would be a great way of just getting away rom all the paparazzi, from all the drama and she'd have her two favourite people in the world there with her.
Selene squealed and squeezed Alina's hand "That's such an amazing idea Tayana but...you two should go ahead, I don't think I'd have enough time to combine the funds."
"No need, I've got it covered my love, all you need to figure out is what you're gonna wear." Tayana stood up and kissed Selene on the cheek before she moved out on the balcony to take a call, leaving an excited Alina and Selene.
"I think this will help you a lot, we're all going through it but you're going through the most. Has he talked to you by the way?"
"Diego..no..I got the guts to finally block him, i'm working on getting my bank to stop supplying his businesses too." Selene smiled and rubbed her hand
"I'm so proud of you, that's such a big step sweet thing, he doesn't deserve anything to do with you anymore." Selene smiled, she felt so proud of her friend.
"And I think I've moved on." Selene's eyes widened.
"Really?"
"Yeah..we're just friends right now but I really think I'm starting to like him, his name is Dominic." Selene paused or a moment and smiled.
"I'm happy for you."
Tayana walked back into the room and sat back down "What are we happy about?"
"About Dominic?"
"The fine bartender that was practically your knight in shining armor? Yeah, hope that ends well. Anyways, let's eat."
----
The rest of the evening was spent with fine dining, conversation and catching up. After dinner, they all separated to go to bed, Selene slept in the guest bedroom with Tayana, leaving Alina to sleep alone and give her her space.
Alina was sitting comfortably in bed when she called up Dominic's number.
"Hey beautiful." That just made her heart race already.
"Hi Dom, sorry, is this a good time to call?"
"It's perfect, what's up?"
"Well..I really liked hanging out today, can we hang out tomorrow? You can come over this time." Alina said, hopefully he'd say yes.
"Hm..well sure, why not, that would be nice, why so soon? Missing me already?" She rolled her eyes, secretly she did but she had to come up with an excuse.
"Well, I'm going to Japan the day after tomorrow for a bit, my sister thinks I need a distraction."
"Wow...sounds amazing, you really need the break, I hope it'll be a good time, your sister really is nice for that." Alina giggled.
"She can be when she wants to be. But yeah..I also wanted to apologize for my forwardness today, I guess I just felt comfortable around you to say something like that but I do apologize...it was inappropriate." Dominic let out a small chuckle.
"It's okay, I understand, I hear it often but for some reason..when it comes from you, it feels right." That made her instantly heat up but she didn't want to look too deep into it.
"Well um..I'm glad that's cleared up..I'll send you my address for tomorrow. By the way, what got you into playing guitar?" She asked inquisitively.
"Well, it's a reminder of back home before we came here..my uncles, aunts, they could all play so essentially it fell onto me. It became something I wanted to do professionally..bartending is just a side job, I really just want to make it in the music industry..., its been my dream since I was little..." He finished his sentence and waited or her response but it never came.
"Alina? You there?" He waited for a moment until he heard her soft breathing from the other nd of the phone, he smiled a little and realised she must've fallen asleep.
"Goodnight beautiful."
