*Lauren's POV*
"My date? Oh yeah my date... Tate.. Hey that rhymes!" Camila drifts off. "Yeah I think he'd be cool with wearing a pink glittery tie" she turns to me and laughs. She seems... Tense talking about her boyfriend. Maybe they were going through a rough patch or something.
"I bet." I laugh back as she continues to scroll through the website.
"Maybe you should get a dress in one of the school colors. Because ya know he's quarter back, you're head cheerleader you're like the all-American high school couple." I say.
"Yeah. That leaves it down to blue or yellow so I think I'm gonna go with blue. Yellow is... A little loud"
"Says the girl who almost bought a bright pink dress covered in glitter" I joke. I'm surprised me and Camila are hitting it off so well. I never thought in a million years I would possibly be friends with the one and only Camila Cabello.
-
My phone buzzes:
Mom: where r u?
Lauren: at a friend's house
Mom: friend?!? Who?
Lauren: just someone from school. I'm fine.
Mom: well Remember, you have to baby sit tonight.
Lauren: ok
SHIT. Thank god I tell my mom everything because I would've forgotten and stayed here with Camila all night.
"Hey.. Camila?" I turn to her
"I.. I have to go. I didn't realize that I had to baby sit tonight"
"It's ok." She smiles and I get up to exit the house.
"Wait, Lauren" she gets up and lightly grabs my arm.
"Why don't you sit with us at lunch tomorrow" she says doing that gaze thing she does.
"I mean to meet the girls on the cheer squad and whatever" she shakes her head and looks at me normally.
"Yeah. Sounds good. Bye" I say turning the doorknob and leaving the house.
As I'm driving out of her driveway, the craziest, most untrue idea enters my head. It's probably just me being conceited but, What if Camila has a crush on me?
I doubt it. She's definitely straight.
