*Lauren's POV*
As we were driving back to Camila's, we came across our school. The dance must have been just wrapping up.
"Wanna go meet the girls? I feel bad for ditching them with no explanation" Camila asks.
"Sure. Why not?" I say as she turns into the entrance of the school. We park in Camila's usual space out front and wait to see her friends exit the school. I glance across and I see Tate, Ansel, and the rest of their friends come towards us.
"Camz" I whimper and point across to the boys Laughing and horsing around as they make their way towards us.
"They don't see us, it's too dark. They can't possibly-" Camila starts to reassure me but is interrupted by tapping on the window. She turns over, wide eyed and rolls it down to reveal Tate and Ansel, the rest behind them.
"H-hey" Camila utters nervously.
"So you look nice. Where were you other than here?" Tate asks with a disgusting smirk. Camila turns to me. She looks like she's about to cry.
"Lauren told me. You two are dykes." Ansel says. The offensive word plays over in my brain.
"Shut up!" Camila yells.
"Defending your girlfriend?" Tate laughs.
"Please just go away." Camila says looking away from the boys.
"Who knew two of the sexiest bîtches are gay for each other?" Ansel says making a gross hand gesture.
"HOW IS THIS ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS?" Camila yells.
"You led us on, you owe us. How 'bout you go at it right here in the car and we watch?" Tate says resting an arm on the car but Camila swats him away.
Dinah, Ally and Normani walk out of the building, laughing and having a good time but quickly turn serious after they see Camila's car with the big jocks surrounding it and quickly rush over.
"What are you doing?" Dinah yells as they all run over.
"Trying to get the dykes to give us a show, wanna join them?" Tate says turning towards Ansel and laughing.
"Leave them alone!" Dinah shouts at the boys. a tear streams down my face. I try my best to hold them in my my vision goes blurry and they start to fall out one by one. Camila turns to me with a hard look on her face which quickly softens at the sight of my tears. She pushes open her door causing the boys to jump back.

"Listen, you have no right to harass us. it's 2015. Just because we are pretty much the only gay people in this judgmental town doesn't mean you can be so ignorant. So you can leave yourself or I'll make you leave." Camila yells. She looks so small compared to them and she has to look up to even see their faces. It's dark but I can see her face red with anger and her fists balled up with rage.

"what do you mean you're gonna make us leave" Tate says resting his arm on her head but she jerks away.

"I'm really not afraid to fight you." she says crossing her arms.

"Wow you're the guy? I always thought La-" Tate starts.

"There's no guy in a lesbian relationship because obviously, we're both female hence the term lesbian you ignorant fûck." Camila starts punching his chest. Dinah runs over and tries to pull her away from the 6'5 football player who doesn't look shaken by her tiny fists and is laughing to his friends. I rush out to help Dinah.

"Come on, Mila" Dinah says softly, grabbing her fists and we both watch as her eyes turn from angered to saddened.

"Get away!" I shout, seeing as I should intervene in this situation.

"It's a free country, babe" Ansel says throwing his hands in the air. I don't know how to reply so I shoot him a nasty look and return to the group of girls trying to calm Camila down.

The boys are jeering and laughing but we decided just to not reply and they soon start to walk away. I wish we knew that all along.

"I hate boys, I hate this town, I hate everything!" Camila yells as she starts to kick her car. I pull her away to keep her from damaging it and start to stroke her hair.

"Shhh baby it's alright." I turn her around to meet my eyes. hers are blood shot, and her face is stained with tears. I look down and her feet are bruised and bleeding considering she was barefoot because she took off her heels in the car.

"It's not alright." She sobs looking down and noticing the condition of her feet. "the fact that this little town in the middle of nowhere has so many hateful people isn't ok. And the fact that we can't do anything about it is even worse." She turns to punch the car but Ally grabs her fist.

"Listen, deep breaths" She starts. "You've got us four on your side at all times. We'll make sure that them or anyone else don't have anything to say about you guys."

"That's nice and I love you all so much for looking out for me like that but it's not enough. I'm leaving here and never coming back."
