*Camila's POV*

Deep breath in... Deep breath out. I am too mad. I really should not blame her. I'm quite lucky that I knew my sexuality and I didn't need to do any experimenting to figure out that I like girls. But Lauren, much like most people, has to try playing for both teams and it's not her fault. I just get so angry. It isn't fair. Yeah, it's normal and I'm gonna have to get over it if she realizes that she's straight and move on and still be friends with her but that doesn't mean it's not gonna break my heart any less. An ambulance comes up behind me and I pull over taking the time to take out my phone and call Lauren to apologize. I continue driving behind the ambulance and there's no answer. She probably doesn't wanna talk to me. As I make my way down the road the ambulance stops along next to a police car by a ditch. Curious, I look down, and a black car just like Lauren's sitting on its side in the ditch while the police officer reaches into the car and carries out somebody to the paramedics who lay them on a gurney. This isn't real. I peak behind the ambulance hoping I don't see her beautiful face but what I see shatters the picture of Lauren and Ansel and takes its place.
I see her black hair all disheveled, and blood running down her forehead.
I rush out of my car despite the people honking behind me.
"LAUREN" I shout, my whole body shaking.
"Stay back" the police officer puts an arm in front of me.
"No you don't understand, that's my... She's my best friend" I say wanting to say 'girlfriend' but giving her some respect.
"Can you at least let me see her" I plead, my sobbing intensifies.
"You can move your car from the middle of the road and follow us if you'd like." He says
"JUST LET ME SEE HER BEFORE" I yell, pushing his arm away.
As I make my way to the gurney, Lauren's eyes flutter
"C-Camila?" She says quietly. I can't bear to see the blood on her face.
"I'm so sorry. This is my fault." I reach to touch her hand.
"Move your car out of the road, young lady. I said you can follow us" the officer snaps. Not wanting to get in more trouble than I'm in, I obey his orders and get in my car. The paramedics lift Lauren into the ambulance and the officer stays back and the ambulance whizzes off, blaring it's sirens, and I follow.
-
When we arrive at the hospital, I run to catch up to the paramedics who are wheeling her down a hall. The bold red letters above it read "EMERGENCY ROOM"
"Is she gonna be ok?" I ask trying not to cry.
"Yes. From what we see, it's minor. We will have to do further examination but it looks like she'll need stitches on her head. Your friend is very lucky." The lady says as she passes Lauren over too a doctor. "She's lucky to have come out of that crash with minimal injuries and to have a friend like you." She pats me on the shoulder. "The waiting room is over there. She will be out in no time." She says pointing to the cluster of chairs shortly down the hall.
Soon, Lauren's parents enter. They ask a lady at a desk where Lauren Jauregui is. She tells them to sit in the waiting room and that she will be out soon. The sit by me.
"H-hi. I'm Camila. I'm Lauren's... Friend. I was driving by and I saw the accident and I followed the ambulance here. I hope you don't mind, I just wanted to see if she's ok." I say in the nicest voice I know.
Lauren's mom wipes a tear.
"We don't mind at all. You must be the girl she was with Friday. That was some news. Our Lauren... At a friend's house. You know she usually doesn't open up to people. You must be a hell of a girl because she wouldn't have ever spoken to you if you weren't." She smiles.
"Well I think your daughter is great and I spoke to the paramedic, and they say her injuries are minor." I say with a caring smile.
"That's so good to hear. When they said she swerved into a ditch I was expecting the worst but she's a trooper." She says.
"Mr. And Mrs. Jauregui?" A nurse calls and Lauren's parents rise.
"Bye, Camila" they say as they enter the curtained room to see their daughter. I wave back.
Being in a hospital is scary. Seeing people wheeled around and crying people come in and out and you wonder how they wound up her. The only times I've ever been were when my sister, Sofi was born, and when they thought that I dislocated my knee at cheer practice; I was on top and when they were getting me down, and a girl tripped and my knee turned in a way it never turned before but when we got to the hospital, it turned out that it was just a sprain.
Lauren's parents come out of the room.
"Camila, she says she wants to see you. They just cleared friends. We'll wait out here." They say.
"Thank you Mr. And Mrs. Jauregui." I say as I rush into the room.
"Lauren!" I say with a relieved sigh. "What the hell happened?" I laugh and sit on her bedside. She has about 10 stitches starting a few centimeters above her eyebrow and ending just below her hair line. Everything else appears to be fine.
"Well after our little.. Disagreement... I was driving to Starbucks to get a coffee and some guy swerved in front of me just when the light turned green and I tried to avoid hitting him so I swerved away from him and I didn't realize that there was a ditch and the rest is history. My car is done with and some of my broken windshield cut up my face pretty bad but aside from that, I only came out with a few cuts and bruises" she smiles.
"Don't ever scare me like that again" I tease. We both laugh.
"Wow, a lot can happen in a week." I say in a more serious tone.
"Yeah. You got that right." She says, her voice quiet and raspy.
"So after this harsh reminder that anything can be over in a second" I start "I just wanna say that I am so sorry. None of that was your fault. I just don't know how to handle my anger sometimes I guess" I laugh quietly and place a hand on her arm. "Look whoever is is that you love whether it be Ansel or some other guy or me or some other girl or anybody, I'm still gonna be by your side. You are the most amazing person I have ever known."
"Camila, can we... Can we ditch homecoming?" Lauren asks.
"Why?" I reply.
"Because that is for normal couples, we're not a normal couple." She says.
"So we're a couple?" I say smirking at her.
"You bet your aśś we're a couple" she says and we both laugh.
"But your dress... I really wanted to see you in it." I say, sad that she won't be wearing and and sad that I wasted money on it.
"I'm still wearing it. Just not there" she says.
"Oh thank god." I say. "Because now that we are... A couple, I can say that you looked absolutely beautiful, hot, sexy, pretty... And stunning in that dress" I say smirking at her. She grabs my hand, a heart monitor on her index finger.
"Well you'll be looking beautiful, hot, sexy, pretty... And stunning in a homecoming dress as well. Right?" She says mocking me jokingly.
"You bet your aśś I will." I say mocking her as I lean in and plant a kiss on her cheek.
"I'm so glad your ok" I say staring into her green eyes.
