The Gifted

Struggle

Okay so, everything was weird everywhere, in my room (with Chase), on practice (with Mac) and on my research (with Bryan)
And the worst part was that most of my school projects were with Chase, I mean he is a sweet guy but he is not MY guy
"Okay, so what would happen if we mix this green substance with the purple one?" I asked Chase
He didn't answer
"Chase?" I asked
Nope, no response
"Look Chase, I didn't do anything wrong!" I finally exploded and he looked at me surprised "that you didn't tell me your feelings before Bryan did wasn't my fault, it was yours so please stop making me feel like crap, like if I had actually done something wrong" I said standing up "and while you get your shit together I'm telling the teacher that I'm doing this project alone, since my partner is dealing with some personal shitty struggle!" I said getting out of the lab and slamming the door behind me
I walked towards the halls and I was heading to my room but I figured I needed some time alone to think, so I walked to the little beach we had at the PAG Institute
I sat on a rock near the water and started summoning dead things just for fun
"Hey there" I said to a little rabbit skeleton
He only looked at me
"I bet it's better to be dead than alive, huh?" I sighed
And the baby rabbit hopped inside my purse but hopped out when my phone started ringing, I looked at the name and saw a number I never thought I'd see calling
"What do you want Taylor?" I asked
"Hello to you too" he said
"Fuck off" I said and hung up, then I herd footsteps approaching
"Hello, Rex " Mac greeted
"Not in the mood Mac "I answered and he kissed me
I pushed him
"Dude I'm having a lot of problems right now and truly you aren't helping" I yelled at him "I don't know if I like you or Bryan.....i don't even know if I like Taylor!!!!" I yelled at him
He looked surprised when I mentioned the part about Taylor so I ran, I ran and ran and ran and ran until I got to the part of the institute that nobody goes to, it was some abandoned destroyed building that is supposedly hunted
I ran inside and cried there for what seemed like hours
"Hey" a soft female voice said, I turned and saw my granny
"I have this terrible struggle granny" I said "I'm lost"
"Look mija all you have to do is relax and think" she said
"But how can I think when everything is so unclear?!" I said "its like trying to swim in a swamp full of crocodiles and piranhas with a blindfold on"
"Then just-"
"Thanks granny, but I really want to be alone right now" I interrupted her
My granny left and I just stared at the sea, this building had a perfect view of the sea I don't know why they didn't rebuild it
I herd tons of footsteps behind me and I turned to see who that was, a lot of teenagers where there
"A Shadow Gifted" a girl gasped, she had black skin
And everyone started talking at once
"Who are you people?" I asked still sitting down, I had a feeling they were dead, but I wasn't really sure
"Are you dead too?" They asked
Yep I was right, dead people
"No" I said and looked back at the ocean
"How are you going with your power control?" The girl that gasped earlier asked
"How am I going?" I asked and stood up "I have nobody to teach me about how to control my Gift, every single Shadow Gifted in the world is dead but me"
"We can teach you" the girls said
"What's your name?" A boy asked
"Roxanne" I said "what's yours?" I asked
"I'm Sunny" the black girl said
"I'm Cody" the boy said "and I'll teach you" he said and winked at me
"No offense but, I've already brought one ex-Shadow Gifted boy back to life who appeared to be my enemies twin brother and I'm having a serious major boy problem right now, so I think I'm more than done with boys"
"I'll teach you" Sunny said I nodded and everyone else left
I nodded and looked back at the sea, I just observed the waves and the sun hiding in the horizon, like waving goodbye at me
"What's in your mind?" Sunny asked
I looked at her "every problem but no answers" I said
"If you wanna control this you need a clear head" Sunny said
"What happened here?" I asked looking at the building
"This was the building for the Shadow Gifted, ya see we need a special training since were different from the others, we are the guardians" she said "we are the guardians of the Gifted, we have Protectors yes but they protect only the person he have to protect while we protect all the Gifted"
"Oh" I say
"But what happened here was The Slayers, one of the Slayers somehow got into the school and when this building was asleep he burned it killing every single one of us" she said with tears on her eyes
Taylor was probably the person to blame
