Chapter 42
*Same Day*
Aria's POV:
The phone is ringing. Jason's name is popped up on the screen. My finger dances around the accept button. Without thinking, I answer it.
"Hello?" I say into the speaker. It's quiet on the other end. "Hello?"
"Aria? Is that you?" He asks. Is he an idiot? I close my mouth.
"No, you just called my phone." I deadpan. "Of course it's me!"
"Sorry, dumb question. Um-" He says. It's quiet again.
"Yes?" I ask. I shift my position on the bed. I'm hungry. I should eat something.
"D-Did you want to go get something to eat?" He asks. I shot up from the bed.
"You called and asked me that?" I question.
"Yep, see you in a bit." He hangs up the phone. Then I get a text.
Jason:
Wear something comfy.
Aria:
It's almost midnight. Places have to be closed.
Jason:
There's bars and stuff.
Aria:
Well look like tourists.
Jason:
Shut up and put on something nice but comfy.
I heart the last message. I look through my closet. I have one white t-shirt and denim jeans. I grab a dark blue suit jacket.
Perfect.
Jason:
I'll pick you up.
Aria:
*sent a pic*
Jason:
😍
