Chapter 27
*two days later*
Aria's POV:
Laying on the bed, I'm doom scrolling on my phone. The bed is wrinkling. It looks as tired as I feel.
A phone call comes through. I immediately have a sense of rage run through my body. My finger hovers over the buttons. To answer or to not answer?
I answer and put it up to my ear.
"Hello," I say, already having the social energy drained from my body.
"I'm really sorry about what I said." Jason says this so fast that it's hard to comprehend the words coming out of the speakers.
"Jason-" I pinch the bridge of my nose to lessen the headache that is coming on.
"No, it was stupid. It's not okay. I wasn't thinking." He sounds like he is out of breath.
"Jason, it's fine. It was a mistake." I'm starting to get a headache.
"I'm-" I hang up on him before I get a chance to hear the rest.
