Chapter 28

Jason's POV:

I can't believe I even went through the phone call. I didn't mean it like that! She just took it the wrong way.

Feeling my blood boil, I ran out of my trailer. Where was I going? I have no idea. Did I have a plan? No, I knew I had to get out of there before I did something I regretted.

I ran. I didn't know where I was, but the purple flowers in the window caught my eye. Girls like flowers, right? Did she ever tell me her favorite color?

My phone buzzed. It was an Instagram notification; Aria posted a full-length body picture of a pink dress. A bouquet of pink flowers was staring at me.

"Excuse me? Buy flowers?" I pointed to the pink flowers.

"We speak English fluently here." The cashier deadpanned. My cheeks flush with embarrassment.

"Sorry, how much?" I question. I never wanted to leave a place so badly. They tilt their head, signally to come to the front. I quickly grabbed the first bouquet I saw and jogged over there.

"So, who are the flowers for?" The cashier asks as they rang me up. I shift my feet, wondering if I should bear my heart and soul to a stranger.

"A friend. I said something really dumb and need to apologize." I said. The cashier stopped for a brief moment.

"Is this your girlfriend?" She asks. I don't speak. "The flowers will look like manipulation. Go over there and genuinely apologize."

A lightbulb went off in my head. I nod,

"Thank you."

I leave without the flowers.

I pull out my phone.

'Can we talk?" It goes to voicemail.
