Chapter 9

Aria's POV:

The air was cool. It's not cold but cool. Comfortable. Still, I was shivery a bit. I tried to hide it as I didn't want to ask for his jacket. That was too clichè, even for me. I love clichès. They were predictable in a way life wasn't. That was okay, though.

I hated uncertainty. Being an actress seemed like an odd career choice. I couldn't shake the feeling of being on stage or behind a camera. The money was nice too.

"Are you cold?" Justin asked, snapping me from my thoughts. His eyes widen with concern. He took off his jacket and walked over to me. He was holding.

"What-oh!" I grabbed the gray-blueish jacket from his hand and put it on over my dress. It had short sleeves that barely covered my shoulders. I didn't think it would be this cold. "Thanks; I didn't think it would be this cold."

"Me either when I booked the reservation." He laughed. His laugh was music to my ears. Calm music, like the kind one would use for studying.

"How long ago did you book this?" I ask. I would imagine this reservation took months.

"Yesterday. Nobody else wanted to book, I guess." He shrugged. I laughed so hard that I felt like I was going to fall from my seat. It tipped backward just slightly. Life flashed before my eyes and I barely caught myself in time before my head hit the hard floor.

"Are you okay?" The concern in his voice was adorable. Like a puppy or a kitten. I nod,

"Yeah, I'm fine." My phone started to buzz. It was my manager and it was close to two am. "Fuck. I gotta get back."

Justin nods, we pay and we race back to the room.
