Chapter 6
Aria's POV:
My nose was filled with smells of fresh pastries being baked as I walked on by. Justin was to my left-being closest to the street. Luckily, there weren't many cars going by or speeding. There was usually a taxi every five seconds as Paris usually goes by public transportation.
I noticed in a bakery window that there were croissants on display. The aroma hit my nose as I pressed my face into the glass. It did not take long for Justin to notice I wasn't with him.
"What are you-" He questioned but stopped halfway through. He pressed his face to the glass. "Oh, it smells so good."
"Let's go in!" We said in unison. I ran to the front door, almost knocking someone over. The cashier looked at me in horror as I almost fell to the floor. I caught myself just in time before I faceplanted.
"You okay?" He whispers in my ear. I nod, and he helps me up. I quietly decide on a table. There was one by the window. People were coming in more and more. The noise was getting louder and louder. My head started hurting, but I ignored it when I saw him approach the table.
"This place is nice. What did you order?" I ask. The noise suddenly quieted down as the cashier brought us croissants and waters. I was starving!
"Same thing you did." He responded. I looked at him, confused. "I didn't tell you what I wanted?"
"No, but I saw you look at this ham and cheese croissant like it was the secret to love." I laughed at the analogy. "Was that funny?"
I nod while trying to keep the food from falling from my mouth. It wasn't very successful as bits of croissant were falling out.
"You know it's rude to talk with your mouth full?" Justin lightly scolds. I swallow and laugh.
"You always one for manners. Let's get out of here." We clean up after ourselves. "Where do you want to go next?"
"Whereever you want to go." He says, grabbing my hand. I pull him towards the street.
"Let's have the best night of our lives."
