Chapter 26
Jason's POV:
What did I just do?! Why did I say that? I'm so stupid!
I run out my trailer. Scanning the area for any sign of Aria, my heart sinks into my stomach when I see she's gone.
I call her phone. It goes to voicemail. Over the span of two hours, I tried to call her fifteen times.
I throw my phone on my bed and let out a grunt.
"Why am I so stupid?!" I scream into the void.
I look around my trailer. It's surprisingly clean despite the fact that I haven't done my laundry in two weeks. I'm almost out of clothes.
A knock at my door, I turn around.
"Hey man." I see Justin leaning against the wall. He opens and closes his mouth. "W-"
He cuts me off before I can finish the small talk humans have been trained to do since the beginning of time.
"Why are you calling her fifteen times?" He questions. He comes in without invitation.
"Why do you want to know?" I replied. I cringe on the inside since that's more of an admission than anything I ever heard.
"Because I care about her safety." He says. I nod. Sensible guy.
"I wanted to apologize. I said something I shouldn't have." I admit.
"I know. She told me about it."
"Why is she talking to you about us?"
"Because I'm her friend."
