Eventually the water started to drain and they allowed us back into our areas. When we passed through the gate we were eminently tackled by a large silver creature.
My back was pressed against the ground and my eyes opened wide. I stared at the silver wolf who was very happy to see me alive. “Your back! I was so worried about you while you guys were in there!” she said after cobalt pulled her off me.
The smiling wolf was surrounded by darkness and then was back in her human form. Her tail was still wagging wildly. “I missed you too.” I said, giving her a quick hug.
“Here. go change into these." Sapphire handed Luna her new outfit. She was super excited and rushed off to the cave. Cobalt had a soft smile on his face. I could tell he was happy that Luna was ok.
When she came back out a light blush came to my face. She wore a light purple shirt the sleeves of which were on her upper arms. Two straps were used to keep the shirt up instead. She had gray pants that became wider close to her ankles. She had a few patterns on her shoulders, mostly moon based.
“You look great.” I said coming over and giving her a soft hug. I think there might have been a slight pink tint to her cheeks but I wasn't sure.
“I would assume she would consider the compliments she got before we left home.” Cobalt said as his tail coiled around luna. Even though he didn't fight to keep her here he missed her deeply. He was very protective of her.
I noticed a slight bruise on her wrists and a similar one around her neck. “Luna. what are these.” I grabbed her arm and pointed to the bruise. I noticed many smaller ones on her arms as well. “What did they do!” I said firmly
“I'm fine. They did what they had to.” she muttered, pulling her hand away.
“What's going on? What happened? Is she hurt?” Cobalt quickly alerted and ran his hands over her arms checking for injuries. He wouldn't be able to feel the difference between normal skin and a bruise though.
“She has bruises all over her arms and ones that encircle her arms and neck” I said. Luna flinched slightly at my tone. I quickly changed it to a softer one. “Please just tell us how you got them. I wont be mad,” I said gently.
“The ones on my neck and wrist are from the cuffs and chains. As for the ones on my arms, let's just say a huge wolf in a small cage is going to try and escape.” she wrapped her arms around herself and shuddered slightly. She hated these nights and that awful place. I wrapped my wings around her and pulled her close.
“Luna why didn't you tell me you were getting hurt on the full moon.” Cobalt hissed. As he pushed me away from her. “I should have known! I could've tried to help!” He scolded her.
“Because if I did you would confront those humans about it and you would get hurt!” she snapped back with tears in her eyes.
Cobalt took a deep breath and looked away for a few seconds before hugging her. His tail constricted around her making sure she stayed. His head nuzzled its way into the crook of her neck to hide his tears. “Just promise to tell me about any problems from now on.” she sighed.
“Ok I promise,”she said, putting a hand on his head. She wrapped her other arm around him. Gradually he uncoiled from her but stayed by her.
“Luna while you were gone me and Sapphire found something.” I said as I gestured to Sapphire for her to come over. She gave Luna a quick head pat before taking the rope from around her shoulder and holding up the conch attached.
