“Because he was the one that taught us about magic.” Rain answered. The two morphs looked at each other for a second before cobalt gave a court nod. “We are part of an organization known as the hawks wing resistance. Raven was an assassin for the group. He was the best of the best due to his mytho.”
“Mytho is the substance in all magic beings making us different from humans.” Raven quickly explained.
“He was unusually strong. He was the lead assassin. So when he left for his mission we thought that he'd only be gone a few weeks. He never came back from that mission though. My mom and her assistant whose Ravens wife decided to go rescue him. Them along with six others stormed the place his tracker said he was in. only my mom and her assistant made it back.” Cobalt finished the story.
“Is that what those wing brooches are some symbol of the resistance?” I said pointing at the brooches they both had. The sleek pearly of white color gleamed on them and they were delicately carved. I saw shards of stone that were similar in color here. I looked and saw a few chunks of the pearly color a few might have had carvings but my attention was drawn back to the group.
“Yes. They symbolize that we are with the resistance. Luna is also part of it. We are supposed to be a secret but I'm done keeping secrets from my friends.” Cobalt explained delicately. He opened the pouch on his belt and showed me the other brooch that must have been lunas.
“Raven, is this why you stopped me from seeing the rest of Luna's memories? Because you didn't want to betray the resistance.” I asked in my head. Cobalt probably wouldn't like me spying on his sister's memories.
He gave a short nod. His face is still dowcast. I've been surprised at the amount of expressions he could make in this form.
We left the room as Cobalt went to explain everything to the others I stayed with Rain. “You know, in all these years no matter how far I traveled from my stone prison I could never find anyone who could see me. I decided to stay and try my hardest to help cobalt cure me. His voice was always soothing… but after the accident it was ridden with guilt and sorrow.” he said randomly. His voice always sounded like he was about to sing. It was odd but made sense at the same time. After all, satyrs use their magic by making music.
“You seem quite fond of cobalt.” I mentioned. A small but sad smile crossed the satyrs face.
“I am. I even confessed one day. He didn't feel the same. I didn't even know it at the time but he's straight. Eventually I moved on though. The trees can't sit and worry about the fall after all.” he hummed.
“Oh so are you gay or bi…” I asked awkwardly.
“Bi. but i'm not looking for a girlfriend I already have one.” he laughed
My face heated up “THAT'S NOT WHAT I WAS GOING TO ASK I WAS JUST WONDERING!” I shouted out rushed. He smirks.
“What about you? Got your eye on anyone in particular.” he asked, giving out a small hum as he looked up at me from where he sat against a rock.
“Well kinda…” I muttered as memories of a certain silver haired girl filled my mind. I could tell my face was red. I was snapped out of my embarrassed state by a cheerful voice.
Luna ran in and hugged Rain. “I'm so glad you're ok!” she happily said. She hugged Rain for a long time. I understand why, but I can't help but feel slightly jealous.
