This person's so inspirational... there's a whole trilogy and a bunch of other poems dedicated to them...

you ask for it back
there's broken glass
you walk around me
the soft footsteps
thunderous in my head
eleven years ago
fingers curled around
cold promises
I see
the emptiness
behind your hallow smile
three years ago
I can smell the smoke
you said you would stop
you said you would stop.
well, obviously you wouldn't listen to me. I'm just a kid. It's just until I've made something of myself will you actually give me attention. I learnt that the hard way.
That's what kids are for, right?
That's what children are for, right?
so now
leave me be
don't wait for me.
