Chapter 18

When George woke up the next morning, he immediately had a vision about his sister. He saw that she was kidnapped. When he was out of the vision, he saw Kira looking at him with concern.

"I'm fine Kira." She wasn't convinced. "You had a worried expression on your face. What did you see?" "Bethany. She was kidnapped." "We'll change it so it doesn't happen." "They're accurate Kira." She didn't say anything further since she didn't want to argue with him. "I'm sorry. With her being human, I'm really worried about her." "It's fine. I know you're worried because of that reason. She'll be fine. I promise."

They both got out of bed, got dressed for the day and went to get the pups. "Hi," they happily greeted. "Would you like some breakfast?" They nodded and they all went downstairs and had something to eat before going to the living room.

"Are you going to visit Jonathan today?" Kira asked. "Mike said he should be able to go home today. I'll call him later and see if we can visit." Just then, George heard his mobile phone ringing. He answered it. "Hello?" "Is it Mike?" He held his hand up to signal her to give him a moment. "Yes...that's great to hear Mike...yes...thanks for letting me know...I'll see you then. Bye."

Kira saw him put his hand down and he then said, "he's on his way home, but he's to take it easy for a while." "Of course he has. He was shot with a silver bullet." "He's lucky it missed his heart." "Can we visit?" "He said that they want him settled at home and they'll let us know when we can go." She nodded and the pups looked to them.

Claire took the pups to Jonathan's house and told them to find a good spot to hide when Mike told her they were nearly home. When she received the message, she told the pups and they went to their spots and waited.

"Let's get you inside son." "Dad, I'm fine." "You're lucky you woke up sooner than everyone anticipated. The doctor said a few weeks." "I'm a fighter. I'm strong." "We know."

Claire then signalled the pups and they all jumped up and yelled, "surprise!" Jonathan jumped since he didn't expect it, but relaxed when he knew it was the pups and his sister in law. "Thanks, but you didn't have to do that." "We wanted to. You deserve a surprise after what you've been through." "Thank you."

The pups then ran to him and hugged his legs. "I'm fine kids. The doctor said I might be sleepy for a while, so don't worry if I fall asleep," he assured. They all nodded and let go of him. "Can we help you?" "You can do anything you want, but could you please be quiet as you do it?" They nodded again as they ran out of the room and upstairs.

"How are you feeling son?" "Dad, I'm fine." "That's not what I'm sensing. The doctor said you'd be drowsy due to the silver. You just need to relax and take it easy." "I know. I'll just stay on the sofa." Everyone never took their eyes off of Mike and they were concerned for him.

He saw his mother give him a cup and saw that it was full of tea. "Thanks mum." "You're welcome. He drank the tea and placed the cup on the table and leaned back on the sofa. The pups sat at his feet.

"Kid's, I'm fine. I promise." They all stood up and gave him a hug and he hugged them back. Daisy then asked, "would you like my teddy bear daddy?" "No thanks sweetheart." "Are you sure? He'll make you feel better." "Go on then. Go and get it." She got up and ran upstairs before returned to the living room with her teddy bear.

"Here daddy." "Thank you Daisy." "He makes me feel better, so he'll make you feel better too." "Let's see if he can make me feel better." Everyone then decided to leave apart from Claire.

"Is there anything I can do for you?" "No, but thanks." She nodded when he then said, "and thanks for looking after the pups." "You're welcome. They weren't a minutes trouble." "Good." They kissed and she held his hand. "Do you want to talk about it?" "No, but thanks for asking. I just wanted to protect my family." "And that's what you did. You just got injured in the process." "I'm healing, but it won't be long."
