Chapter 19

The next morning, Bethany had woken up not feeling well. When she walked into the living room, she saw Kira on the sofa. "Kira?" She turned around to see her sister in law looking unwell.

"Hi Bethany. Can I get anything for you?" "I just need my medication." "Sit down I'll get it for you." She did and waited for her sister in law to return. When she did, she took her tablet and her brother returned from the kitchen. "Here sis. Have something to eat." He gave her a plate of toast and a glass of orange juice. She thanked him and had some breakfast before relaxing on the sofa.

"Would you like to help us with the pups?" Kira kindly asked. She nodded, but suddenly held her head. "I think you should go back to bed." "I'll be fine. I want to help." George looked to his sister with worry.

"Why don't you go back to bed and we'll bring them to you?" She nodded before he made sure she was upstairs and in bed safely. "I'll get you some water and we'll bring the pups in." She agreed and when she saw her brother, her sister in law and the pups, she sat up more and Kira carefully gave her Julian.

"Hi Julian." He looked at her and smiled. Kira then sat next to her on the bed and said, "I think he likes you." "I think so too. I think Sophia does as well." "Would you like to hold her as well, or would you like to keep holding Julian for a while?" "Both please." Kira then carefully gave Sophia to her.

"Do you think if I have kids, I'll have twins?" "I'm not sure. I mean there's dad and uncle Jack. Then there's me and Steve, and now my twins. You never know." She nodded as she looked to the twins. "I'm going to try and be the best auntie I can be." "I know you will. You're doing so well right now, I don't see why it won't change in the future." She nodded again and told them that she wanted to give them back to them.

When she did, she relaxed again. George remained in the room with her for a couple of hours and said that she could read and go on her laptop for a while. Once he left, she went on her laptop and researched how to look after kids.

After a couple of hours, Bethany was out of bed and she made her way down the stairs. When she entered the living room, she saw her brother on the sofa with Kira as she rested her head on his right shoulder.

"George?" "Hi Bethany. How are you feeling now?" "Better. Thank you. What can I do to help?" He was confused. "I don't think there's anything you can do right now. The pups are having their nap and we're just relaxing while we can." "Well...if there's anything I can do, I'd like to help." He smiled. "Thanks sis. We appreciate it. How's the pain?" "It's only a little bit now."

Kira then said, "just know if you need anything, I can help with it." "I know. Thank you." "How about a hot water bottle? You look a little cold." "Please." She prepared the hot water bottle and returned to the living room where she saw her sister in law being held by her mate.

"Just while we were waiting for you." She nodded as she then saw Bethany sit up. "Here you go. Would you like a drink of tea as well?" "Please." Kira left and returned again with a cup of tea. "Here you go Bethany. Is there anything else we can do or get for you?" "No thanks."

They let her relax on the sofa and they stayed with her. "Do you want your laptop?" George asked her. "No thanks." "Is there anything you want to do now or later?" "I'm ok for now and I'll see how I feel later. I've been researching how I can help with the pups." "We can tell you." "There might be something you don't know and I looked at that could help." "That might be true, but we've done our research. We appreciate it though."

Bethany nodded and relaxed more. She closed her eyes and they both watched her while she rested. "I'll get her a cover," George commented.

When he returned, he gently placed the cover over her and pulled it over her shoulders where he and his mate then saw her turn on her right side. "Let's leave her to sleep," Kira softly said. "Yeah," her mate quietly replied.
