Romance Smut ahead in this Chapter
Another couple days pass by, and Saphira had still avoided the question of whether or not she wanted to go to Chicago. Only Barricade has not asked the question, which the bots believes that Barricade didn't want to go unless Saphira would go. Which was true, as Barricade would remain here if she hadn't wanted to go to Chicago so he could continue supporting her like he has the last three years. But Barricade already knew Saphira wanted to go, she was just waiting and wanting to spend time with Optimus and the autobots. He actually teased her a few times about it, which Saphira found amusing and annoying at the same time.
Currently, it was evening and Saphira had just entered her bedroom after enjoying another cabbage stew, and she was feeling very content. Though her mind was thinking deeply about what she wanted going forward. She knew that she had to give an answer. The three humans were also getting annoying. Cade was exasperated earlier, and he pissed off Saphira, and Barricade too, due to him expressing irritation at the autobots for not pressuring Saphira into making a decision, even though the autobots had given her the time she needed. Barricade was angry Cade didn't seem to under the trauma Saphira had been through, and why she would want that time, even though she had already made the decision and Barricade was aware of it.
Saphira looked at the window and smiled as she could see the western star parked outside the window like he has been almost everyday. She sat on the bed and picked up a brush to brush her hair while she thought about Chicago and KSI. She was still frightened about going back to the city, even if she wanted to go because being involved with the autobots has always been that way from the start. Aside from when the autobots worked and fought alongside the military, and would go on missions, almost every important moments have been with the autobots. And she wasn't about to miss this over some trauma she has experienced.
She placed her hand absentmindedly on her stomach as thinking about the past and her sparkling played on her mind. She did often wonder what her sparkling would have looked like. It would have been a hybrid since it would have her DNA, but she still wondered what it would have looked like, and if it would be able to transform like Optimus could. That was something she would often think about. She had not even had a chance to think of names either.
Saphira took a deep breath and continued to brush her hair, though she saw Optimus holoform forming by the window and she smiled a little. "Are you okay, Saphira? I noticed you might have been thinking about our sparkling." His expression softened in concern as that was a pain he knew would never go away for Saphira.
Saphira sighed deeply. "I was...I do it a lot actually. After all, it is hard to not think of what...what they would have been like. What they would have looked like, and...I am sure you think of that too. We never even got to talk about names...but you didn't know when...you were forced to deceive the world. And me..." Optimus walked over to her and sat down slowly next to her. "And to think there was...nothing left to...even bury it..."
"That might be true, Saphira. I too have thought of those things. But...there is only one thing we should find comfort in." Saphira frowned slightly and looked at Optimus. "There will always be a small part that was left behind in you, Saphira. Even with the way the sparkling was...destroyed. There will always be a tiny little piece left behind."
Saphira felt tears in her eyes as she had not thought of that. "You never told me that. Why?"
"I don't know...I guess I had been grieving that year too, and...it slipped my mind. But for all Cybertronains, when a sparkling fails in a carry, there is always a small piece of them left behind. And, even though you are human, I am going to believe that too."
