since last night's argument with benedict, alison was finding it hard to grasp the fact that he had no explanation for picking a fight with her last week - it seemed like it had something to do with kothari, but it was odd for that to be his only reason.

and so, because she found herself unable to write about her new friendship with kothari, she wrote about her argument with benedict instead. it was what the two of them may call 'typical'.

she had ripped down benedict's small artworks that had been displayed upon her walls and vanity, as well as took a few books she had borrowed from him or eloise or penelope and hid them from out of plain sight. what is her logic about this? you may wonder. well, it was simply that penelope reminded alison of eloise, as well as edith, and eloise reminded alison of benedict, and benedict... he had betrayed her.

but, she was willing to think of him one last time. purely for inspiration purposes, obviously.

a mortal sin.

i'll not forgive your gilded lie, nor hold my tongue in peace; though i may mourn, no tear will dry the wound that will not cease.

a sin, you say, with angel's grace, yet serpents whisper still- you played me as a martyr plays, but never bent my will.

i buried us, a pale delight, beneath the weeping sky, and yet you walk, in borrowed light, as i am left to die.

no tomb shall rise, no stone shall bear
the weight of what we were, though saints may bow in holy prayer i'll curse your name, a slur.

for though i hate not what you are, i loathe what you've become, the hand that reached but stretched too far, now cold, forever numb.

you sinned, my friend-confess, repent,
though i shall never hear. my heart is spent, my anger sent to rot in love's dark bier.

so let the angels take your hand, but i shall not forgive- i'll keep you here, in bitter land, where hatred learns to live.

if it wasn't obvious already, alison had never quite felt anger like this before. she had never felt betrayed before. and the sad thing was; she always assumed that benedict would be the last to do so.
