“In 3,2,1... Action!” a male voice shouted.

“Please, spend the whole night with me...” A deep manly voice registered with full of sincerity.

It is TOP’s first shooting day. Just for information, the scene that they are taking is part of the latter episodes of his upcoming drama. As we all know, ‘scenes’ either from movies or dramas are taken not by sequence but by the degree of difficulty or sometimes depending on the staffs’ decision.

After uttering his first line, TOP let go of her leading lady’s hand who happens to be (you’re free to imagine who she is, any top Korean actress will do) playing the woman named Jade.

Without waiting for Jade’s reply, he grabbed her hand and brought her inside his car. Jade was so stunned at that time. She couldn’t think what to do.

“Ok! And... Cut!” the director cut the scene.

A young male walks toward TOP and gives him a stainless tumbler where his favourite coffee is contained. TOP grabs it and bows to the young man. He opens the lid and feels first its calming aroma before he makes a few sips. This is usually his routine everytime he films to keep him much awake since, he’s a very sleepy head while having his coffee, he makes his way somewhere inside the apartment that the production rented for the drama. The ambiance inside is quite crowded since, some of the filming equipments as well as the director and few staffs are inside. He sits on the wooden chair in the dining room and continues sipping his coffee. A middle aged lady carrying few leaves of paper approaches...

“Excuse me, Ms. Ah (the assistant director) told me to hand these to you... the script for the next scene...” the lady politely said and left TOP immediately who was about to thank her.

TOP scans the next scene’s script until...

“Seung Hyun, we still can’t find the right... I mean... no one is still qualified as Ms. Han (TOP’s former) replacement.” TOP’s road manager interrupted.

“Of course, no one can replace her because she’s ‘One of a kind’. Maybe your required qualifications are unreachable... try setting them to reality because ‘ideality is much too far from reality and most of the cases don’t exist.’ “

“But you’re on the peak of your career... we are just making sure to give you the best.”

but I guess the best wasn’t good enough... as that song says.”

“Alright. Fine. I think we’re just exaggerating too much.”

It’s half past 8pm as I check the huge wall clock hanging behind my desk slash counter. It’s not really my first time to stay at this hour all by myself inside SNU’s library cafe. Well, in my third week of stay here in Seoul, I already met lots of people of different personalities and races, thanks to my hardship of being a student assistant at the university. After receiving that call coming from my little sister, it came into my senses that my responsibility to myself doesn’t only end there, this time, I am now liable to take care of my family overseas. Plus, I’m totally a grown up lady now. My situation right now is like hitting two birds with one stone, I’m earning at the same time paying back SNU’s goodness through giving my best service.

As I pack up my things and tidy things up, the cafe’s entrance door opened. Without checking who it is...

“Please, come back tomorrow. The library is already closed.” I shouted as I place all my things inside my bag.

After my classes and during breaks, I directly go on duty since, the university is paying me by hour. When there’s still no work to do and while waiting for some customers, I do my school works to make my time worthy.

“Oh God, thank you so much! Hey, Chin!” Seung Joon’s voice coming from afar.

“I’m so blessed to see you here at this hour!” he added as he walks toward me.

Actually, without my glasses, I really can’t see people’s faces few meters away. All that I can recognize is their structure or body built.

“And why?” I answered without bothering to wear my glasses on.

“I need to return this today.” He replied as he place a very thick book on my desk with a cover saying Perry’s Chemical Engineering Handbook 8th edition.

“Sorry, I can’t process late stuffs and don’t you know that everybody in our class in the Philippines has a softcopy of this book?”

“Of course, I know that and I am also one of those people who have a softcopy of this.”

“If that’s the case, wh—wh—“

“Aish, you’re one of the librarians right? Are librarians required to ask students the reason why they need to borrow any books?”

I’m about to get pissed until...

“KIDDING! I just need to check some data here. Please, I need to return this on this day. I don’t want to pay any penalties.” He pleads.

“I’m sorry but I really... I mean the cafe’s OS is already closed. You can just leave Perry’s here then, by tomorrow morning I’ll process it.”  I replied.

“Well, the damage has been done. So just be it.” He answered.

As our conversation ends, I already finished packing my things inside my black Jansport back pack. With my right hand, I lift my bag and grab the small shoulder bag where my empty food containers and tumbler are placed.

“Whoa. Up to this point you carry too much stuff, huh?”

“and so?” I replied and started to walk my way out.

“Hey, wait for me.” he shouted as he grabs my back pack that was only secured on my left shoulder with my left arm embracing these few sheets of newspaper.

“Let me carry this for you.” He told me as he pulls down the strap of my back pack.

“Wow, you’re really a hard worker. Still looking for another job? W—wait...” he added

“What? Why don’t you shut your mouth for a while?” I stopped.

“House cleaner/keeper... requirements....” he continued and read the one that I highlighted.

“Aish, why don’t you manage your own business?!” I flipped the newspaper and started walking.

“Hey, Chin, for your information you can’t just apply for any available jobs here in Seoul. You’re not even a citizen here.” He reminded and followed me.

I guess he’s right. I already doubted, if I could get any job here in a foreign country without any job experience and most especially a job visa but I really need to earn more. My sister is still studying in high school, my dad is jobless right now and my mom just earns minimum. I computed all our expenses and my mom’s wage is not enough to cover it all. I totally need a miracle for me to have a job outside school.
