Chapter 19: Unit 914

After my only class for the day, I went straight to my second part-time job which is to serve as a house keeper in a condominium just a ride from school. This will be my first day of work but my employer required me not to come too early.  That’s why; I’m still here at the lobby waiting for my vintage wrist watch that my dad gave me to strike at 1pm. While waiting, I decided to open my notes in Environmental Science to scan our past lectures. Until, the elevator few meters from my seat opens. At the second it opened, out of nowhere more than a dozen of girls mostly teenagers ran towards the elevator. I stood up and checked the reason for these girls loud scream. As I walk near, I can’t explain why my heart pounds insanely. Until, I saw him closely, just a few steps away...

“What the – How did they -- AISH!!” the security shouted as he immediately run to prevent the girls from moving closer.

Five more securities went in to block girls from stepping any closer. Frozen and stunned, I remained on my position and watched him silently as he walks out the building while giving everyone including me his priceless smile. Minutes after he’d left, still, my whole body remained stocked.

“Another look-alike? But I’m not drunk...” I told myself.

“Chin, It’s really him!!!” I shouted to my mind.

For the first time, I saw TOP in person not from afar but just inches away. I really hate myself for not knowing that he was here. Here? Does he live here? But the last time I researched about him was that he already resides in his newly built house. I think I was just so lucky to see him today and this might be the last time considering this huge building that has more than a hundred units.

“It’s me. I forgot to tell you last night that I would be dropping by in my condo to get some stuffs.” TOP told his manager as he walks to the outdoor parking lot.

“You should have told me earlier or asked somebody to pick your stuffs.” his manager replied.

“Wait, you sounds like that you’re outdoor. Don’t tell me that you again parked in that place?!” his manager added.

“Y—Yes...”

“Aish, how many times do I have to tell you to park your car in the basement?...Seung Hyun, I’m just protecting you...”

“Yes, I know and I’m sorry.”

“Just promise me next time, okay?”

“Alright. I’ll hang up, see you.” TOP ended their conversation.

I checked my watch and saw that it’s already 5 minutes past 1. I immediately returned to the lobby and grabbed my things. I stepped inside the elevator and pressed number 9 button. In no time, I reached the ninth floor. I searched for unit number: 914 and found it at the farthest aisle. From the lobby up to this aisle, you can say that this building as well as the condominiums is one of the finest in the entire country. The aisle is carpeted, the smell is luxurious, and the whole building is air conditioned or maybe has heat pumps installed...

Using my key ‘that was made especially for house keepers’ like me, I opened the white steel like door and the door automatically locked after I went in...

“Wow, this is beyond my expectation...” I told myself as I removed my black sneakers and wear this average-sized pink indoor slipper that was place right next to another pink indoor slipper that is way too big for my size.

I walked inside and for the second time, I got stunned by this huge cherry blossom painting hanged in the living room. Gosh, this unit is perfectly designed for a bachelor like Mr. Kim. After feeling so overwhelmed by the surroundings, I went back to the entrance and left there my things.

From the entrance, I went directly to the kitchen to check the trash bin where I found empty packages of instant noodles and cans of drinks.

“Poor bachelor... You’re so rich yet you only eat this kind of stuffs at home.” I told myself as I empty the trash bin.

“If I just know how to cook like my sister, I could have prepared you something special...” I added as I separate the openers of the aluminium cans because, they are pure aluminium and can be sell to recycling stores at some price.

After collecting the trash in the kitchen, I searched for the walk-in closet where the master bathroom is to also collect some trash there. As I can remember, the bathroom is behind this ‘mirror wall’ that served as its door that you need to slide for you to get in.

“Alright, tell me... which door is it?” I asked myself as I closely examined this two white finely carved door.

“I think I need to do my own ‘Innie Minnie Miny Moe’ the Bigbang way, ‘I love you baby. I’m not a mons... TER!’” my pointer pointed to the left door.

I tried to open the left door with my right hand since, my left hand is holding a medium sized trash bag where the previous trashes that I collected was contained. Tada!! It opened my ‘monster’ worked!! After I opened the door, for another time, I again got dazed... A shop-like walk-in closet registered on my sight. As I walked in, all I can see are signature suits, shirts, shoes... everything. an entire designer wardrobe from the hats and caps down to his shoes and each style comes in all colors. While amazingly gazing to his wardrobe, I walk towards the ‘mirror wall’. I inspected it first to which way am I going to slide it. I tried to slide it to the right and for the nth time, I again got stunned to his very chic black tiled and gold accented bathroom that almost made my eye ball to pop out.

“Wow, this is much larger than my room! Tell me is this really a bathroom?” I astonishingly told myself.   

After TOP’s conversation with his manager, he went inside his car and placed the three books that he was carrying on the passenger seat. He closed the door and grabbed the seat beat. After he clipped the seat beat, he noticed that one of the books that he was carrying a while ago was not the book that he needs to bring with him. He took it, unclipped his seat beat and went out his car.

From the outdoor parking with a book in his left hand, he walked briskly and returned to his condominium. He entered his four digit passcode and the white steel like door with a golden number plate, 914 opened...
