After our dinner, we both started to roam in the open market. It’s really nice to do the groceries at this time because; there were only few people and ‘shoppers’ around to the fact that it’s already 8:40 pm, an hour when everybody were done having their dinner.
It’s been minutes since we started our walk. We already passed a lot of food stalls of different types and still, TOP hasn’t stop to a certain spot to buy any item. Until...
“Hey, Chin. Why you always stay behind me? Stay on my side, you might get lost.” TOP told me as he stopped walking.
I paused and observed the surroundings to check if anyone voiced him. Then, I walked to him closer.
“Shhhhh... Please, don’t talk too loud. They might recognize your voice.” I whispered.
“Thanks for your concern. With this outfit, they might doubt that It’s me.” He replied
“I’m just making sure...” I replied.
“Fine, c’mon. It’s getting late already and we haven’t bought anything yet.” He informed and grabbed my hand.
I got speechless as he holds my hand. Stunned, I just walk with him and observe every people that I see because, it would be a very big disaster if anyone would recognize him.
In a few while, TOP decided to stop in front of this fresh sea food stall where a woman in her 60’s was waiting for a customer to come. Well, I guess TOP was a cat during his past life. I didn’t expect that he would still be eating another round of sashimi after our meal.
“Ahjumma, how much for the shrimps?” TOP asked.
“Hey, you’re here again! I thought that you’re busy?” she replied.
“Huh?” he curiously replied
“Taecyeon! You’ve been here yesterday.” She gladly announced.
“What did I heard it right? She called TOP, Taecyeon?!” I told in my mind and turned my head left and right if others heard what she said and found that no one heard her other than us. Thank God.
“2pm?” I replied.
TOP gave me a quick glance and told the ahjumma...
“No, you’re wrong. I’m not Taecyeon...”
“Oh, I’m sorry... You don’t sound like him. My hearing failed me these days. Getting old is really inevitable.” She replied and started to pack generous amounts of large shrimps.
It’s not impossible to be mistaken TOP ‘in disguise’ as Taecyeon because, they both have the same physique and heights.
“Can we have 3 kilos please.” He said in a very courteous tone.
“Alright, I’ll give you another half kilo for free. Just promise me to come back again.” She gladly replied.
“Thank you, ahjumma. No doubt that Taecyeon comes here often.” He thanked and grabbed the plastic full of large shrimps.
From ahjumma’s place, TOP and I decided to go to the vegetables stands as we walk our conversation starts...
“Do I really look like Taecyeon, I mean... why did she mistaken me to be Taecyeon?” TOP curiously asked as he remembers that he’s in a disguise outfit.
“I think so because, you’re both tall and mascu----“ I almost finished my sentence until I remembered something.
**FLASHBACK**
With just five to seven steps away, I can clearly see his body. Comparing to the only picture that I saw on the internet which was taken years ago, I can say that his built improved. I don’t know how would I describe what I’m seeing right now but I’m sure that he lost some fat and gain some muscles and few packs, of course.
Shocked and short breathed, I lost my grip on my snickers. At that very moment, he turned his head towards my position...
“A—I’m so--- sorry...” (In Korean) I closed my eyes and turned my back.
**END OF FLASHBACK**
“Ye—Yes, you’re both tall… Anyway, what veggies are we going to shop?” I diverted the topic.
“It’s up to you. You’ll be the one to cook, anyway…” he replied.
“I know right.” I replied as we continue to shop for more groceries.
