I got home from school and actually felt really happy. I still talked to people from my old school, but communication gets strained when you move away and talking to my sisters is great, but having other people to talk to was so much better. Lydia and Allison even invited me to hang out with them tonight.

We still had some leftovers from dinner yesterday, so I didn't have to cook today. I decided to go on a run before I started some homework and then met up with Lydia and Allison.

I started running around Beacon Hills and decided to change my normal path through the forest.

I ran for about 30 minutes before I stumbled upon some weird entrance. You know how in scary movies, it's always the girl going through some strange entrance before she gets killed? Yeah, I know that too, but for some reason in that moment I forgot all about that.

I walked through these weird gates that lead to some stairs. I descended the stairs and found myself in an abandoned subway station. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to see. I heard mice scurrying around, but still decided to slowly walk around. Why was this here?

I walked into the subway car and looked around. There were some chairs and... chains? Why would there be chains?

"Who are you?" someone huffed out from behind me.

I yelped and quickly turned around to see who was talking to me.

"Kylie?" said Derek.

"Oh my god, Derek, you gave me a heart attack!"

"What the hell are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same thing." I said with a raised eyebrow.

"I live here." said Derek.

EXCUSE ME? What the hell does he mean he lives here?

I hesitated before I asked, "You live... here?"

"That is what I just said." he replied, slightly smirking.

I looked around again, my eyes fell on the chains. Does this guy have a weird kink or something?

"Well, um, nice place?" I said, sarcastically.

"Thanks, but you shouldn't be here."

"Sorry, I was just going for a run and found this and couldn't help myself. I'll leave you to, uh, whatever it is you do with these chains."

He looked surprised, then smiled for just a second.

I turned to walk away, but found myself turning back around. Was I really going to say this?

"You know, if you ever needed somewhere warm and... not abandoned to stay, I have a spare bedroom at my house." I literally couldn't help it, the words just came out. Oh no, Jax is going to kill me. "You already helped me, I would just be returning the favor."

He hesitated, "Thanks, but I actually find this place pretty cozy."

Okay, liar. It's freezing down here, and dusty, and there's mice, and there's chains.

I nodded and started to walk away and he pulled out his phone. But again, I found myself turning around. "Well, uh, if you ever change your mind..." I said grabbing his phone from his hands, "... here's my number and my address. Genuinely, even if it's just to get something to eat, I'm sure my sisters wouldn't mind." I handed back his phone. Well, I guess I'm the liar now.

I stopped for a second and looked in his eyes again; there was something about them. I felt like I could just look into them forever. I felt like I could find out about him. I felt safe when I was looking into them. I felt like... I was staring and now I'm embarrassed.

I turned around (hopefully) just in time to hide the blush growing on my cheeks. And this time, I actually left. I never did anything like that, acting like a little school girl and blushing. I mean maybe once in what seems like a lifetime ago. What was it about Derek? Don't get me wrong, this guy is H.O.T. but this was different. I wanted to know everything about him. No no no, I can't think like that, I've only seen this guy twice for a grand total of 20 minutes.

I ran back home trying to get his eyes out of my mind, but nothing worked.
