| MONITOR ROOM |It had been so many hours since the beginning of this nightmare, I honestly didn't know how I was still awake, still moving. My body was so sore, not to mention how dirty I was from all the shit we had to swim through. I'm sure Leon felt the same as me, though maybe worse. I was starting to lose hope on a way to get out of here and continue living my life, but even if we did get out..what was next? How could I continue living my life normally as if none of this happened? What about S.T.A.R.S. ? Had this virus already spread across the globe or was it just Raccoon City? Leon and I didn't have a clue, and we wouldn't know until we made it out of here. Not to mention the people behind this, we had already figured out Annette, but what about everyone else helping? Had they already died due to the virus, what about that strange creature in the video? There were so many unanswered questions that we needed answers to, we had no choice but to keep going. We couldn't stop to take breaks, we just needed to keep moving.
On the table at the other end of the little room was a note that read, "Pretty sure the rook and the knight are on the same wall and the bishop and queen aren't next to each other. The queen and rook are opposite of each other, too."
It looked like this was a big puzzle to get that big door open, that was our way to get to Ada.
"Hopefully the few needed chess pieces will be down here, but not scattered too far." I mentioned to Leon as we turned to walk towards the normal door that would lead us out to the pool room.| TREATMENT POOL ROOM |
"Hopefully you're right, I don't know how much longer we can press on without taking a break." Leon added to what I said while we stepped through the door. The new room looked kind of weird, there was a platform we could lower, though the open area around the platform there was water, Leon lowered the platform for us to rush across to the other side, we could either go left or right - to the left was the cable car, but to the right it looked like a safe. Maybe there was something we could use in there!
"Leon I'll check out the cable car and see what can be done, you can try and open the safe." "Alright, be careful Val. Please." Leon nodded to me, his sweet face smiling down at me. "I'll just be right over there, if I need you I'll call for you..and same for you! But, I promise I'll be careful." I gave him a gentle smile. We both went our separate ways.
I made my way over to the cable car and began to check it out - maybe this was our ticket out of here! I walked up to the door and thought it was going to slide open 'ACCESS DENIED' showed up on the side of the door with a loud alarm noise. I scrunched my face at the loud alarm. To the left was a computer that I decided to take a look at, in hopes it could give me a clue on how to access the cable car.
Leon on the other hand was busy trying to crack the code for the safe, he had his ear up against the safe trying to hear the clicks. After a few minutes he eventually got the code, '2, 12, 8' "Ahah!" Leon spoke once the door begun to open, inside was a stock for the shotgun. Leon put it in his pocket and began walking over to the cable car, "Hey Val! Looks like you've got a new part for your shotgun." The man let out a low chuckle, once he was by my side he handed it to me, I grabbed it with a smile. "Thank you Leon." "No problem, anything to help." I grabbed my shotgun and began adjusting the new part onto it, once I did and cocked it and placed it on the strap that went over my back and left it alone. I then went back to looking on the computer, "Found anything out about the cable car yet?" "Nope. Though I know we can't access it right now, I'm trying to figure out why.." I spoke to Leon without looking at him, I was too busy reading what was on the screen of the computer. Leon noticed a red tool just laying by the computer, he picked it up. "Maybe we can use this, remember those doors we were using that looked like they needed something to lift them up?" I already gave up on trying to look through the computer, it was locked and I couldn't do anything but read what was on the screen. After only a few minutes on it, it died anyways. "Fucking useless." I muttered to myself. "Yes I do remember, they looked strange, like they didn't fit in. They were the blue doors." Leon nodded to what I said, "Maybe this is what they need." He held up the red tool so I could see it, "Let's test it out." I smiled, he nodded and put it in his back pocket. We started walking back to the platform when we noticed a door that we could go through. Once we opened it, wr began hearing the groaning of zombies. "Oh great." I whispered, my hands now reaching for the shotgun on my back while Leon had his handgun. "Get ready. There's no telling how many of them there are." I nodded at his words, Leon slowly began walking down the steps first, I was right behind him.
One zombie that had on a construction outfit that was slightly glowing, started walking up the steps. Leon shot him in the head a few times but he wasn't going down. "Leon move." I demanded once the zombie grew closer, I tried pushing Leon behind me and was successful. Aiming the shotgun I took one shot at his head and it exploded everywhere. I had to wipe my face off from the pieces of meat that landed on me. "Ew fuck!" I called out, spitting on one of the steps. Two more zombies started trying to come up the steps at the same time, I aimed my shotgun again and shot the both of them at the same time. Their brains and bloood splattered everywhere down below in the room we were trying to walk into. "Wow. Remind me not to fuck with you." Leon shook his head and holsted his handgun. "Yeah, like I'd ever shoot a rookie like you." I laughed, trying to make a lighthearted joke - considering our situation. "I would hope not!"| LOWER WATERWAY |
I walked down the last few steps with Leon behind me, we seemed to almost be where we were earlier. Leon noticed a lever on the wall and pulled it down, it opened a gate leading out to where he and I where earlier when we were walking through the sewer water. I looked around the room to find a new path leading to a new area. There were a few steps to walk down - I was met with one of those strange blue doors. "Leon! Try using that red tool over here!" I called out, in just a few seconds Leon was behind me with the tool in his hand. He placed it on the mechanism and started turning it, the blue door started retracting upwards. "It's working! You were right Leon!" I praised him with a buoyant tone.
The door was fully up now so we could walk through, Leon grabbed the tool and shoved it in his pocket again.
We made our way through, but below us we noticed weird, slimy stuff. "What the fuck is all of..that.." I pointed below us, it reeked in this room. "Hell if I know...maybe one of the chess pieces is through that door over there." Leon pointed over to the door with the shiny red light above it. "Great. We have to go through THAT to get over there.."
