Leon and I checked our surroundings, making our way over to a table with a board hanging on the wall, it had a key hanging "Don't mind if I do!" I spoke while gently grabbing the key off the hook and shoving it into my pocket. "It looks important, good eye." Leon complimented me, "Thanks! You're a sight for sore eyes." I complimented him back, without looking at him I started heading down the ladder and into the murky water. Without even looking at Leon, I could tell he was blushing. He was always so cute and such a gentleman, he had such a way with words sometimes - when he wasn't being awkwardly cute!
Leon climbed down into the water after me, I decided not to make a comment about the water this time, I was sure Leon had heard enough of me complaining, and quite frankly I was having enough hearing myself.

Though, Leon decided to complain for me.
"I hope we can atleast find a new pair of clothes soon." The male groaned, I could tell he rolled his eyes while speaking. What a sassy princess.
The walls looked like they were covered in intestines, it made my stomach churn just from the thought. Next to us was a huge pile of whatever the fuck was on the wall, we had to climb on it and over it - there were a few zombies just laying there, dead. So lucky for us there wasn't any danger!
That was until we moved a little bit further after jumping off of the guts we had to climb.
The creature half in the water and half out made such a weird noise, Leon and I looked at eachother with our eyes wide. "What the fuck are we dealing with?.." "Dunno..you tell me, V."
Even in a state of panic - hearing him call me 'V' made butterflies flutter in my stomach, I tried to shake the feeling while we delt with the serious creature in front of us. "Okay, how about I shoot with my handgun, and you take a few shots at it with your grenade launcher?" "Deal."
Both of us stood back while I grabbed my pistol from its holster, Leon had his grenade launcher aimed and ready to shoot.
I aimed my pistol at the monster and shot. *POW* *POW*
The two shots from my pistol echoed in the room, leaving our ears ringing. The creature made a loud noise that sounded as if it was in pain, it stood up from the water and started walking towards us.
Leon then shot a few rounds from the grenade launcher. *POP* *POP* The sound of the explosion echoed in our ears while the sound of cracking called from the flames now streaming from the creature. It called out one last time before slumping down under the water - for good.
"I'm pretty sure there's going to be more of those things down here, do you have any more rounds Leon?" I checked my pistol, deciding to leave the clip in there to not waste the bullets, "I've got three in the chamber and four on me, that should be enough..if there isn't more than three of  those things down here with us."
I nodded to him and continued forwards, he allowed me to lead so I would have enough time to react to shoot my pistol if need be. I kept it out on me, and just taking a few steps forward another one popped up out of the water. We repeated the same routine that we did with the first creature and carried on.
Once we got to the other end, one of the monsters came out from the hole in the wall - slamming itself down into the water. "EW FUCK!" I wiped my face from the murky water that had now contaminated my face. I shot the fucker around five times, just from how pissed I was - Leon only had to shoot once from the damage of my pistol.
Once it was done we continued walking, reaching the end where we had to pull ourselves up onto the tiled floor. "Like I said earlier, remind me not to piss you off.." the blonde chuckled, I knew he was just joking with me - I didn't feel the need to reply, I just wanted to get out of here now.
The walls looked as if they were breathing due to the veins that lingered on them, it was an eerie sight. We pushed onwards through the door and up some stairs into a new room.

Upon walking in, we had to walk down to the wall to our left to walk around some railing and then down some more stairs.
Once we were down there, it looked as if it was a puzzle, and we had to use the chess pieces. "Great..Leon how about you sit this one out, stand right here." I asked him, and surprisingly he listened. I grabbed the queen plug from the part which made the sliding door shut, walking down I put it in the new part which made the door open. Once I walked in I noticed a zombie hanging from the floor above me, I shot it down and finished it off with my knife. My eyes caught glance of two weapons locked behind the doors, "Huh..we could use those." I thought to myself. The mechanism said it needed the King plug, I walked up the stairs and grabbed the King plug! Jumping down I ran back through to the other door and stuck it in there, "Leon! I found us some new weapons!" I called out for him while grabbing them. I walked back out of the door and down to grab both pawns. Once I did that I placed the queen back in the spot where I first found it, walking through I gave Leon what looked like a flamethrower "Maybe this will help with those weird looking monsters." "Hopefully, thanks V! You're a lifesaver." The blonde wrapped his arm around me while he other hand held the flamethrower. "Oh it's nothing, seriously." I leaned into his touch, slowly wrapping my arms around him.
After a few seconds I pulled away and pushed the king plug into place, it slid the door open and I was able to grab the Queen plug, coming back I grabbed the King and we made our way back to the murky water.
"Val..seriously, I don't know if I'd even be alive without your help - we need eachother, thank you for everything you've done tonight. We haven't known eachother long, but it feels like I've known you my whole life."

Leon stopped me dead in my tracks before we were about to jump back into the water. "Leon..truth be told, I feel the same. It's like I've known you forever, like we were childhood best friends, maybe it's because of a trauma bond now..but I feel so connected to you. More connected than I've felt with anyone else."
I've been wanting to get this off my chest for a while, I just hoped it wouldn't come back to bite me in the ass. Leon simply smiled at me and kissed my forehead.

Hello loves! I'm actively writing this chapter WHILE playing re2 again to refresh my memory, so hopefully more chapters will be more detailed from here on out! I hope you guys love the little slushy bit I added in the end, we're getting very close to saving Ada and heading to NEST!
