"Did you find anything?" Aliyah asked the two men sitting in her living room. They stood up upon her entering and took turns too hug and kiss her cheek. "Where is Edward?"

Sean sighed and shook his head softly, "he excused himself on our way back and urged us to go home. We haven't seen him since then."

Steven nodded in concur. "What about Asher, is he awake now?"

At that, Aliyah smiled, "he woke up early this afternoon but I don't seem to know where he could be at the moment. I was told he left shortly after Anita arrived. Tell, any lead?"

This time, Sean ran his hand through his brown hair and sat down. At forty-four years old, he still looked striking like he was in his late twenties. "Nothing different from the other nights we have checked. The foot prints didn't really lead anywhere, at some point, it just stopped, like something had intentionally cleaned it. I just don't understand."

A servant walked in then with a tray of drinks and served them. Steven sipped from his and smoothens his black hair. He was keeping a ponytail now and he too, still looked as handsome as he did in his late teens only much more matured and his ponytail gave him a look of a sexy mafia boss. "Edward suggested we take a look at the rogues. With what happened twenty-five years ago, he is still afraid that someone might prey on them once more to attack everyone."

"Why is it like that?" Aliyah wondered.

"As the only pack without an alpha, they are always the easier target. Anyone that wants to attack the werewolf world will always start with them," Sean answered, sipping his drink.

Aliyah nodded, seeing reasons with him. "If it's like that then we have to fix it, Alpha Damien will have to give them an alpha."

Sean scoffed, "believe me, I have tried. But Alpha Damien said they have never had an alpha and he won't be the one to defy his ancestors by giving them that. Even though he has come to show a little care concerning them, he still won't give them an alpha."

"That can be arranged, I will just tell Edward to order him to do that."

Steven laughed, "you talk like you don't know your Mate. King Edward may rule the four clans but he doesn't intervene with how each clan rule his people. As long as they are not ruining the peace the land have, Edward will not intervene. And mind you, he has no connection to the Night Howlers. He may be your mate and the father to the Future High Alpha but that is it, he doesn't understand the werewolf world and it would be wrong to force him to give orders. Alpha Damien is not just a pack alpha, he is the werewolf King, the alpha of alphas, Edward will have to give him respect too, no matter what. The rogues are under him and only he can decide what would be their fate. Edward will only intervene if the rogues start attacking Demons and Nightwalkers, not us, never us, because they are our people, our kind."

"Exactly," Sean concurred, "the only hope we would have in giving the rogues an alpha is Asher, and that's it."

"But what if Catherine shows up and uses the rogues?" Aliyah asked.

Steven shared a glance with Sean before sighing, "then I guess every pack alpha would have to write a petition to Alpha Damien and if he still doesn't do anything about it, that and only then is when Edward would be involved because the very packs that Damien is ruling are calling him out. That's how the council works."

"But..." Aliyah still wanted to protest but Sean interrupted.

"We can only pray it doesn't happen. From my understanding, Kaiden was the one controlling the Rogues, I don't think Catherine can suddenly do that," he explained.

Aliyah exhaled and closed her eyes, "I just don't want what happened twenty-five years ago to repeat itself."

"I understand," Sean stood up and went to her. He smiled and softly patted her head, "and even if it does, we will simply win like we did then. No matter how strong they can be, they can never triumph over us, no, they can't. We may not know what Catherine's deal is in this whole thing and why she had to hide in our pack and heal all those wolves but I do know one thing, whenever she makes an appearance, we would be ready and we would defeat her like we defeated Kaiden and his witches."

"Of course we will," Edward said as he materialized in the room. His eyes fell on Sean who was patting his wife's head and it glowed blue. Sean raised his hand in surrender and quickly backed away from Aliyah while Steven chuckled. Aliyah rolled her eyes at her Mate as he walked up to her and put a possessive arm on her shoulder before turning to the men in his living room. "What are you doing here?"

Sean and Steven glanced at each other and then at him, "we have been with you in the woods and have been coming here after each trip for the past five days, what is the difference with today?" Sean asked.

"Because you touched my wife today," Edward said naturally like he had every right to.

"Oh please," Sean rolled his eyes, "we have our own mates, what makes you think we would come after yours?"

"I have always been a petty man and never tries to hide it. It's not my fault if you seem to have forgotten," Edward shrugged.

Steven stared at the man in shock, obviously wondering how he lacked no shame saying that but seeing Aliyah shake her head at him, stopping him from making a comment, he could only just chuckle with a slight shake of his head.

"The woods led us nowhere but I know they are there. Maybe it's time to tell Damien to call them out with his alpha command," Edward said and everyone got serious, knowing he meant business now. "Only he can do that, every alpha obeys his command, I don't know how strong the power is in Asher since Damien have not down the handing over ritual, so he can only do it himself."

"He has been complaining about getting on with age. He is four hundred and fifty this year, he had lived thirty years longer than his father and grandfather," Steven said.

"Maybe it's time he performed the ritual?" Aliyah asked.

"He does want to perform the ritual so that he can live the rest of his life in retirement but the last time he had brought it up, Asher said he wasn't ready to become the High alpha and some pack alphas agreed with him," Sean shrugged. "Normally, as a pack future Alpha, Asher should have been handed down the pack by now but as the future Alpha king, the ritual can only be performed when the younger one is ready."

"Then Asher needs to get ready," Edward glanced at them. "We don't know what we are up against but I would need everyone to be prepared and since Damien is complaining about strength, Asher has no choice to be ready. When I see him tonight, I will talk to him. Besides, I don't see anything he has to get ready for."

Everyone silently agreed, with how things are going, the woods is not as peaceful as it had been in the past years and with what Hepzibah said, Catherine may make an appearance soon and they all need to be ready for her.

The door opened then, drawing their attention and they watched as a man and a woman walked in. The woman smiled and went up to them, hugging Aliyah who already has her arms outstretched. "Oh, Irene, I have missed you," Aliyah cooed, hugging the woman.

"I have missed you too," Irene said.

Rasmus walked forward and knelt in front of Edward, "my King, your servant has returned."

"So you two still know the way back to this place?" Edward teased, drawing Irene's attention to him.

"Good evening, King Edward," she greeted with a raised eyebrow, "I missed you too."

"I never said I missed you."

"But I read it from your words," she teased back before greeting the two alphas in the room. "Alpha Sean, Alpha Steven, my greetings."

"Welcome back, Irene, we sure have missed you," Sean smiled and Steven raised his wine glass to her.

Aliyah still holding onto her hands, asked, "well, did you find it?"

The smile on Irene's face turned sad, "unfortunately, we had to drop our search to rush back here."

Hearing that, Aliyah frowned and everywhere turned serious. "What happened?"

"Well, your birthday is in three weeks and we didn't want to miss it like last year," she smiled.

"Irene, that is not the only reason you came back."

Irene's smile dropped and she heaved a deep sigh, "you know me too well." And then she glanced at Edward, "I had a vision, she is coming and she is raising her army."
