"Oh my God," Naomi gasped when they appeared in a dark cave. "How did you do that?" she asked, turning around to search for Asher but the cave was dark that she couldn't see a thing. "Asher?" she called.

"I'm here," he answered, deriving a gasp from her as she wasn't expecting to hear his voice. His voice came a little far from her and she tried to go to him. "Stay there, okay?" he replied hoarsely. "There are stones here and I wouldn't like you hurting yourself. Just give me a minute." Using teleportation means that he had let go of his Night Howlers ability and that forced him to shift back, and with his demon powers in front, he could feel its healing properties fighting to heal him and the weakness was fading away slowly. He leaned over and pried the teeth of the trap open, flinging it somewhere in the cave. He rested his back on the cold wall, his eyes closed as he decided to give himself time.

He was still in his moment when a sweet tantalizing smell filled his nostrils and he could actually feel his eyes turning red as his Nightwalker's part fought to take control. "Naomi!"

"I'm sorry," she hurriedly said, sensing the agitation in his voice. "I just...I wanted to go to you. I never expected that I would be landing on a rock with the first step I took. I think I'm bleeding."

"Of course you are," Asher said through gritted teeth as he fought to control himself from rushing to her and burying his elongating fangs in her neck. The two powers in him were fighting for dominance and the two of them can easily heal him, except that his Nightwalker's part would need blood to do so and it wasn't helping if a human was standing in front of him with the most tantalizing blood he had ever perceived. He shut his eyes tightly, his hands clenching into tight fists beside him. He held his breath, trying his possible best not to take in more of her scent into his system as he fought to control his powers.

"Asher, are you okay?" Naomi called, taking a step forward and wincing in pain.

"Just stay there!" he yelled and controlled himself before adding, "please," in a whisper. "Just...give me time, okay? Please. Stay there."

Naomi nodded despite not able to see him. Asher sounded like he was in pain but for some reason, she didn't want to go close to him anymore and forced herself to remain rooted on the spot, staring in the darkness and waiting.

Asher grunted softly as he fought, his demon powers weren't winning and he knew soon he would be fully controlled by his thirst. The thirst was uncontrollable because he was wounded and he needed to get whatever that was making him weak out of his system. His wolf can't do anything here because the foreign substance was affecting it badly, his demon side would have healed him without any problem but Naomi had to hurt herself, triggering his vampire side with her blood and his vampire part would need blood to heal him because it had been a long time he fed in blood.

He groaned just as he finally lost control and leapt out of the cave before he could reach for Naomi. He landed on the forest floor and heard her shouting for him and even though he wanted to go back to her, he knew he was dangerous around her now and so he sprinted into the woods in a blur. It wasn't long, he came close to the wolf hunters. His eyes were burning red as he watched them and then his eyes landed on Larry. Thinking of how he was hitting Naomi earlier, his rage went up a notch but he still remembered her shouting 'No' when he was going for the kill earlier and so he turned his eyes from him with great difficulty and landed on the man nearest to them.

He watched him, he doesn't want to go out and fight them, one he was naked and two, he didn't want Larry to recognize him when next he would see him since he wasn't going to kill him too and besides, he doesn't need to kill all of them, just two or three was enough to satisfy his weeks of thirst.

"Wait, something doesn't feel right?" a man said and the rest looked at him.

"What are you going on about?" Another asked but before the man could reply, Larry shouted.

"One got it," Larry laughed, pointing at a spot before kneeling down to inspect the liquid that had mixed with the soil. "I left a trap here the other night myself and with this blood here shows that it got it. That's great," he stood up and turned to his friends, all smiles, "he is wounded boys and with the amount of wolfsbane and Garuda poison coated on that trap, he won't be going far before it loses consciousness." He chuckled, "let's go on, this is the right way."

"Um, Larry, do you think that something is wrong tonight? Also, we have never come this far into the woods before," the first man said.

"Are you chickening out, Paul?" Larry asked, slightly annoyed.

"No, of course not," Paul hastily shook his head, "I just feel somehow, it feels like...like something is watching us."

"Then fan out and find it, that is our wounded wolf," Larry said, however, right before his very eyes, he saw something pass by in a blur and when he blinked, Paul was no longer there. "Paul!"

However, all they could hear was Paul's scream and then, nothing.

The rest of the men hurdled together, glancing around fearfully. To think that Paul had just warned of something watching them and now he was gone. "I think we should go Larry. Even if that wolf is wounded, I doubt your daughter is still alive."

"What the hell? You want me to abandon her? That is my child!" Larry yelled.

"Oh please Larry," a man shouted, "don't kill us for her. And besides don't act like you really care about her. We all know how you hit her almost every night. Or you think we don't know?"

Larry was silent, at the end, he said, "she is still my child and I am not going to abandon her."

"Why didn't you think about that all the time you have been hitting her? Also, you haven't told us the truth, how did the wolf get her? Did it go into your house?"

"Yes it did," Larrry answered.

"Why?" another man asked.

"How am I supposed to know, do I look like a wolf which would make me think like one?" Larry asked. "Listen, we have to find my daughter and we are not living here unless we do."

"Speak for yourself," the man earlier said, "I'm going home to my family," and with that, he turned to leave but like a blur, he was no longer in front of them and all they could hear was his agonizing scream before it was quiet and the forest was still once more.

"Fuck Larry, what the hell is going on?" A man asked and it was clear that they were all scared that they could shit their pants any moment now.

Larry, now scared, said, "I have every reason to believe now that a blood sucker has set his eyes on us."

"A vampire?" one of the men asked in total fear.

Asher let the body drop on the forest floor and he closed his eyes as the liquid traveled into his system and the flesh wound on his ankle suddenly closed up. He opened his eyes and they weren't red again but midnight blue. He could feel his strength returning, and his body satisfied but his thirst wasn't satiated and that was because he didn't take the blood he had wanted but he wasn't a danger to any human now, especially Naomi.

Glancing at the corpse in front of him, he bent over and took off the body's pant and put it on. Now that his chastity has been covered, he walked out to the fear-stricken men and they all looked shocked to see him and fearful as well. However, he had his reason of showing himself, he had heard their discussion and knew returning Naomi back home and acting like nothing happened would be hard and so his eyes flashed red as he snapped his fingers, grabbing the men in a trance.

"Go home, forget what happened tonight entirely. Tomorrow, you would hear that two of your friends died in the woods tonight but you won't remember what happened and what they were doing in the woods in the first place." His eyes shifted to Larry and he said only to him, "forget the wolf in the room, your daughter is sleeping in her room and you would go straight to yours once you get home." With that said, he snapped his fingers once more and the men turned from him and started walking out of the woods.

He watched them leave, satisfied with himself before he turned to go back to Naomi. However, he felt like he was being watched and turned sharply to see a woman standing under the moonlight. Her voluminous black curled hair fell behind her back and her black eyes locked on him. Asher felt the fear in his heart immediately he saw that face, it was the face that has haunted him since he was a child and he involuntarily took a step back.

Catherine smiled and said, "soon," and with that, she vanished, leaving black smokes behind.
