"Naomi," a voice called and Naomi came to consciousness to see Asher kneeling on the ground with his hands buried deep in the soil. She stared at him, not understanding what had just happened. He had been talking to her, only that now it felt like it was one of her visions but it was not her vision, it was not something that would still happen. She could feel it, even remember what they talked about but now it seems like it was all her imagination? "Naomi," Asher called again and looked at her, his eyes were glowing a faint blue light and it looked like he was in pain. "Are you okay?" he asked, his voice was close to a whisper and it looked like he was fighting consciousness.

Before Naomi could answer, he slumped on the floor and that was when she sprang to action immediately, rushing to him and shaking him. He was breathing shallowly and his body was burning up. "Oh my God, Asher, what happened?" she asked, now clearly worried as she tried to lift him up but he was nearly twice as big as she was and very much taller that it was so hard lifting him up. "Please Asher, wake up, I can't lift you by myself," she said and then grabbed his hands and started pulling him. The ground was obviously grazing his skin but she didn't have a better option. Merely dragging him was already draining her, he weighed a ton.

Finally, she managed to get him on the porch and she quickly unlocked the door with her key. She continued dragging him into the house and merely happened to raise him up to lie on the couch. She fell on the sofa next it, panting and wiping out sweat. After some seconds of catching her breath, she sprang on her feet and rushed into the kitchen. No matter what, she has to get Asher conscious to leave before her father gets back. She grabbed a new dish towel and dampened it with water then rushed back to him, she used it to clean his forehead. She could see the tiny cuts dragging him on the floor had done to his skin and she just hopes he would understand when he wakes up.

While cooling his body with the towel, she noticed something and her hand froze; the tiny cuts on Asher's body had clearly disappeared. She didn't know how it happen. One minute she was cooling his body and noticing the cuts, and the next minute, they were all gone like nothing was ever there. She frowned and inspect his body, the only thing that could confirm she dragged him on the hard soil with tiny stones were the dirt on his body and the rumbling on his clothes, nothing more.

She sat on the floor, watching the handsome boy lying on her couch as the evening event played in her mind. The speed at which he moved and the way his eyes were glowing. The nerve wrecking attacks he was rendering and how quickly he was avoiding some. The way he had landed on his car and damaged it and yet walked out unscathed. If she had been thinking that maybe he is not human with his eyes changing colors, now she can confirm it. However, if he is not human, then what in the world is he?

While still wondering what had happened, she sensed someone was in the room with her and glanced around but she couldn't see anyone. She froze as the goosebumps rose on her skin, the aura was terrifying and it felt like the room temperature had dropped a lot of degrees and it almost felt like she could see the white smokes coming from her breathing. She stood up hastily and covered Asher, scanning around and thinking of the perfect way to defend herself and Asher. One thing she knows is that going to that party that night in the woods have really upset the balance in her really boring life. So many strange things have been happening since that night and she still can't figure out what it all have to do with her.

"I know you are here," she said, her voice shaking and she tried to hide it, "I can sense you."

"He is not wounded," a voice said. The voice was calm and soft but had an eerie feeling to it, a feeling that told her she cannot afford to cross the owner.

"No he is not," she responded, her eyes searching frantically around. "And so you can't take him."

The voice scoffed, "little girl, you can't stop me from taking him if I want." The voice said. It was the voice of a man, so soft but yet dangerous.

"I don't know who you are or how strong you might be but he is like this because he saved my life. So I won't let you or anyone hurt him in his vulnerable state." Her voice was determined and even though she knew she has no secret technique or anything to defend herself with, she must not show weakness and can only silently pray for Asher to wake up. Whatever he is, she knew he can defend them.

A figure finally materialized right in front of her and she gasped and took a step back, nearly falling on Asher but managed to get a hold of herself. She stood firmly after nearly falling and looked up at the figure that was in front oof her. The man was tall with black hair and midnight blue eyes. His features were clearly similar to Asher's and she was stunned to see that. The man looked no older than thirty and so he can't be Asher's father, maybe his brother? She glanced behind her at Asher and then at the man who was just staring at her. "You are his family," she said with realization. "His elder brother?" she raised an eyebrow, perusing the man and insisting on her theory, he is not old enough to be his father. Asher is clearly eighteen, so how can the man who looked to be in his late twenties or early thirties be his father?

Edward scoffed at the girl's words and he didn't bother correcting her and just walked to his son. Seeing him approach, Naomi gave room now figuring he was family. Edward felt Asher's forehead and a frown graced his smooth forehead. He couldn't sense any danger coming from and if it wasn't for his body burning, he looked like he was just taking a nap. He had been deep in the Eastwood of the human realm, investigating with Sean and Steven about the attack five nights ago when he sensed Asher. The pull wasn't as strong as the one five nights ago and he knew instantly that whatever happened to him wasn't life threatening but he had come to check none the less.

He had been surprised when he discovered he was in a human's house and more surprised when he saw the little girl tending to him. He didn't know what happened but he sure as hell knew that the girl was just taking care of him. Now fully confirming that he was okay, he didn't know if he should bring him back home or not. But if he should bring him back in that condition, it would Aliyah worry. He doesn't know when Asher had woken up but if he was here in the human realm, it means Aliyah had seen him and had clearly been worry free, the last thing he would want would be to make her worried yet again. It had been really tiring these past five days and he clearly doesn't want that again.

Standing upright, he cleared his throat and turned to the girl, he rate her from head to toe, she wasn't beautiful, clearly not up to his son's taste in females but judging from the girl's words, if he can risk getting hurt to protect her then she must be important to him. "When he wakes up, tell him I said he should meet me at home."

Naomi nodded immediately. She had been staring at the man and didn't quite get what he had said and so when she did, she asked, "you are not taking him with you?"

"No, it would only make his mother worry and I don't want that. He is clearly not in danger and will wake up after some hours of sleep. There is no need causing a ruckus just for that."

"Oh," Naomi bit her lip, thinking.

"What is it? You don't want to tend to him anymore?" Edward frowned.

"No, it's not. It's just that my father would be home soon and I won't like him to see him. It would really get him in trouble."

"I can't leave him unattended to," Edward said.

"I understand," Noami rushed to explain herself, "but if you can just help me to get him in my room, it would be easier to hide him from my dad there and he weighs a lot."

"Very well," he replied and picked Asher up, "show me this room of yours."

"Thank you," Naomi quickly said, trying not to think of how easily he had picked Asher up when she couldn't even get him up half way as she led him upstairs to her room. Edward gently placed Asher on the bed and she thanked him again.

"If anything happens to him," he said, turning to her, "you won't like me."

Naomi nodded instantly, she could feel it deep in her bones that the man was not to be messed with and she was terribly afraid of him. "I will do my best to keep him safe."

"Good, don't forget, ask him to meet me once he awakens."

"Okay. Who will I tell him demands that?"

"His father."

"Okay-wait, his what?" she asked but the man was gone and she was alone in the room with Asher. Hold on, what just happened?
