Chapter Ten

I could feel my heart pounding against my chest. We had been running for a long time. After I had explained everything to Jake, we had sped up our pace. The only thing I left out was that I am a mixture of all three species. I didn't want him to freak out!

He wanted to help me get to my parents. I had asked him why?"Because I love you."he had said. Awww...isn't he cute? Concentrate Lisa! This is not the time!

We reached the hotel and he held on to my hand. I gave it a tight squeeze and then made my way towards the room where I had left my parents.

"Mom? Dad?" I yelled out waiting for an answer, but there was nothing. There were tears threatening to come out, but I wouldn't allow them to.

"Maybe they went looking for you?" Jake suggested.

That is a possibility.

Jake's POV

We walked in the room and there were a lot of different scents. How can Lisa not smell them? Oh..maybe because she hasn't shifted yet. My thoughts are halted by Lisa calling out. "Mom? Dad?"

I didn't want to scare her with the fact that there were more scents in the room, so I decided to play it cool. "Maybe they went looking for you?" I suggested not wanting to show the fear in my voice that her parents may be in grave danger.

There was nothing but silence. I could see that she was taking in the possibility. I grabbed a hold of her waist and pulled her close to me. "It will all be ok." I whispered in her ear. Then, I leaned in and gave her a soft, but very passionate kiss.

She pulled away after a while and said, "We have to find my parents."

I hated how we couldn't have normal lives as mates. We just met and we have barely spent any time together!

'Oh well..suck it up!' My wolf said to me. I know it might sound crazy to have a wolf inside you talking to you, but that's how we roll. We're just that cool!

'How can I suck it up when I can barely spend any time with my mate? I just want to hold her in my arms and kiss her til the end of time.' I practically yelled to my wolf.

'Well...if you think about it, once all this is over, you can be together forever. The sooner you find her parents and get everything else under control, the sooner you can be with your mate....and I can be with mine.'

Did I mention that our wolf part also has a mate? Well...it does! Since Lisa and I are mates, her wolf and mine are mates as well. That is how this whole mating thing works.

I snapped back to reality and realized Lisa was staring at me intently. She looked like she was looking at a crazy person. Oh wait, she just saw me have an internal convo wif my wolf...of course she thought I was crazy!

"Oh...ummm...I was jus-"

"Hello Lisa..."

Here I am being interrupted by a huge guy with a gun in his hand. Why in the world did he have a gun? He eyed my mate from top to bottom. This made me very angry! No one checks out my sexy mate but me!

"Who are you?" I asked coldly.

"Who are YOU?" He asked back.

"I am Lisa's mate! Who are you? And why do you have a gun?"

I could see a bit of fear in my mate's eyes. This was making me angrier. Who did he think he was? He can't just walk into some place with a gun uninvited and check out my mate, and then on top of that cause her fear!

The guy remained silent for a while. Then, out of nowhere, he let out an evil laugh. What the fudgen chocolate is he laughing at? Is there something wron with his brain?

Suddenly he stepped closer to my mate, picked her up, threw her over her shoulder, and stalked off like he owned the place. I was too shocked to move, then I realized what was going on. That guy was taking MY mate! I ran after him but it was no use. He was too fast!

The only thing I heard before he completely vanished was him saying something along the lines of "Oh Lisa, you are in for quite a treat." Then he chuckled, and with that, he disappeared from view.

What did he mean with that? Was he planning to hurt Lisa? He better not! I swear, if he so much as hurts one hair on her head, he is DEAD! DEAD I tell you! I have to figure out where he's taking her. NOW! I can't the thought of being another second away from my mate! With that said, I start following my mates scent which is still a bit fresh. I am on my way baby! I'm coming to the rescue!
