Two wrongs made it right
Through mistakes, an endless fight
We were so afraid to fall
As it never worked at all
We were too exhausted to run
As broken hearts wilted from the sunBut now dry away your tears
You'll find someone else to chase your fears
We knew it all along
That we couldn't love for so long
We knew we'd have to say goodbye
And away our love would flyIn our hands held our destiny
But there's this future we could foresee
This fate we've been afraid of
Though we loved unapologetically
We were trapped in an hourglass
And too soon our time would slip away
Seems we used up all the fuel already
As we taste the goodbye on each other's lipsBoth dressed up in a raincoat
Slowly sinking is our boat
We know it's useless to try
And salvage the remains of a castaway
No boat was ever truly unsinkable
Not even ours, a patched up makeshift raftNow dry away your tears
You'll find someone else to chase your fears
We knew it all along
That we couldn't love for so long
We knew we'd have to say goodbye
And away our love would flyIn our hands held our destiny
But there's this future we could foresee
This fate we've been afraid of
Though we loved unapologetically
We were trapped in an hourglass
And too soon our time would slip away
Seems we used up all the fuel already
As we taste the goodbye on each other's lipsWe're draining it out with a lingering kiss.
