When we first met
I knew I was about to fall
But I knew how it felt to be broken
How it felt to be left down
So I ran far away from you

But you lit up my days as the sun
Your smile, your voice, your laugh
Just being you was enough
Nobody had ever made me feel this way
So I took a chance

So that's how it went
From the bottom of my heart
I confessed that I loved you
Though it felt obvious
But you didn't care about me
While the heart wants what it wants
I knew I couldn't regret
Falling for you

I opened up my heart
To you I bared my soul
I would've shared my all with you
But you turned you back on me
And I know I'll never be whole again

I thought between us there was magic
But it was only a life's trick
Just so you could leave with half of me
