Ainu's POV
A few days pass and everything seems to go back to normal. 1-A gets used to living in a dorm together with me along with them. Though, I did have to explain to them that I will still be going to Recovery Girl's office to learn than to join their class. They were pretty bummed about that, but I assured them that they see me a lot more since we're all living together and that we still walk to the school at the same time. It seemed that made them feel better. However, today was different. Mr. Aizawa told me that I will be meeting up with 1-A in Gym Gamma today. I've been working in Recovery Girl's office when Recovery Girl speaks up to me.
"You should head out soon dear. Did Mr. Aizawa tell you what you're going to be doing today?"
I close my books. "No ma'am. I was just told to put on my hero costume and head to Gym Gamma."
She sighs. "There is no need for him to be such a stickler. No matter. You'll see dear."
"Okay. Thank you, Recovery Girl."
"Of course dear."
I get up and leave. I change into my hero costume and find my way to Gym Gamma. Turns out, I'm the only one there.
Whoops. I guess I can wait until they arrive. Actually, I can stretch in the meantime. Who knows what Mr. Aizawa will put us through.
A few minutes pass and I hear shuffling from behind me. I turn and see 1-A and a few teachers with Aizawa. I smile and wave at them.
"Good, she's already here."
We all enter Gym Gamma and survey the building.
It's big.
"Gym Gamma. It's also know at the academy as the Training Dining Land or the TDL."
"This establishment was my idea." Cementoss says as he makes some concrete stretch up from the ground. "We can prepare unique obstacles and terrain for each of you. Here you will learn to serve up justice hence the name."
"That's pretty cool." Denki comments.
Iida raises his hand abruptly. "A question, if you'll allow me!" He lowers his hand. "What's the purpose of having an ultimate move for our provisional licensing exam? May we know your reasoning?"
"That's two questions." Mr. Aizawa points out. "Calm down."
Wait, we're creating ultimate moves? I mean, that's great and all, but-
"The job of a hero is to save people from all sorts of dangers: Crime, accidents, and natural or manmade disasters. Of course the licensing exam analyzes how you are able to deal with such things. It won't just be for fighting, your ability to gain information and come up with quick decisions will be judged. In addition to how you communicate, cooperate and lead others. Every year a new test is used to test these qualities."
"One thing is quite important: If you want to be a hero you must be able to prevail in battle. If you're prepared, you won't have to worry and those of you with an ultimate move will have better results." Ms. Midnight adds.
"Your circumstances should not dictate your future battles. Learn to be consistent and you'll be a great asset on the front lines." Cementoss smiles before turning away.
"Your ultimate move doesn't necessarily have to be an attack. Take Iida's Recipral Burst for example. This temporary boost in speed is valuable and it's what falls into the excellence we're looking for." Ectoplasm nods to Iida.
They continue to explain as I look off to the side.
I don't have an ultimate move, but they're doing this for their provisional licenses? Doesn't Mr. Aizawa know that I already have mine?
