Ainu's POV
~Time skip~As I come back into consciousness, I recall what Mirko told me on the second day for our training.
"Fear is preventing you from having control. Control is what you need to avoid becoming psycho. So, simply, I'm going to force you to no longer be afraid of yourself!"
I open my eyes to a white ceiling and the clicking of a keyboard. A groan escapes as I begin to rub my eyes before sitting up.
"You're awake dear?"
"Yes ma'am-"
My eyes widen as my memories catch up to me. Shit.
"I was gone for a week without any warning, wasn't I?"
Something hard hits my head. Pain throbs from the impact and I rub it with my hand.
"And worried us nearly to death!"
"I'm sorry.."
"You better have a good explanation for your absence dear. As much as I want to lecture you and hear you out, there is someone who needs to hear it more."
I flinch as I know exactly who it is.
Mr. Aizawa. He's going to kill me...
As that thought comes and goes, the door to the infirmary opens and closes and who other walks in than Mr. Aizawa himself.
"Is she awake?"
"See for yourself."
I lower my head preemptively to apologize.
"Arai."
"I'm so sorry sir. I-"
His scarf wraps around me tightly and I cannot speak. He pulls my head up to look at him. His hair was standing up straight and his eyes were glowing red.
"Do you know how worried we all have been?" His voice deep with anger. "Do you know how many resources we spent looking for you?! We had an agreement, so you better have a damn good reason for being absent for a whole WEEK with no contact."
The scarf tightens. I still can't speak.
"Not to mention you come back in your hero costume all busted up, acting like everything's normal, then pass out for 24 hours once you step back into the dorm!"
That hits me hard. I look at him as the shockwave courses through me. I was out...for 24 hours?
"Don't act like you didn't know unless you want more trouble."
"She might be shocked from how long she was out for, Mr. Aizawa."
Mr. Aizawa looks over at Recovery Girl for a moment. He looks back to me. He closes his eyes and his hair drops. The grip the scarf on me loosens just a bit as he rubs his temple with frustration. He sighs.
"Explain yourself, Arai. Now."
"I was found by Mirko."
He looks at me sharply.
"She knew I was a student of U.A. She asked me to go with her for a week, like a work study. I felt as if I couldn't say no.."
Mr. Aizawa sighs again with frustration. "First of all, I've already told you how a work study works. You DON'T miss school for an entire damn week. Secondly, I also told you the conditions of participating in a work study and Mirko doesn't meet ANY of the requirements. Third of all, you didn't contact ANYONE during your absence. And lastly-"
I wait.
"Even IF you thought you couldn't say no, you should have."
I stay silent.
