We went back to Hogwarts today. I was in a compartment with Harry, Ron and Hermione. I couldn't find May, she was probably with Draco or Blaise. Did I mention that May and Blaise were dating? Yeah, she broke up with Sam because she started to have feelings for Blaise. Blaise was happy because apparently he had a crush on her for a while now.
"So what was Malfoy doing With that weird looking cabinet? And who were all those people? Don't you see? It was a ceremony, an initiation." Harry said. I frowned, Harry is onto Draco.
"Stop it, Harry. I know where you're going" Hermione said in annoyance.
Harry ignored her. "It's happened. He's one of them."
"One of what?" Ron asked.
Hermione sighed. "Harry is under the impression Draco Malfoy is now a death eater."
"You're barking," Ron snorted. "What would You-know-who want with Malfoy?"
I spoke up. "Harry, I'm sorry, but I agree with Ron and Hermione. I mean its Draco, he can be a Git but he can't possibly be a Death Eater."
"You're just saying that because you loved him." Harry sneered. "May I remind you what he did?"
I glared at him, "Harry, don't. Draco may be a lot of things, but he isn't a death eater."
Harry frowned. "Well, then what was he doing in Borgin and Burkes? Browsing for furniture?"
"It's a creepy shop. He's a creepy bloke." Ron said simply. I was so glad Hermione and Ron are against Harry on this. I can't have people knowing about Draco or me.
"Look his father's a Death Eater. It only makes sense." Harry tried to reason. "Besides Hermione saw it with her own eyes."
Hermione sighed, "I told you i didn't know what I saw."
Harry stood up. "I need some air." I saw him take his invisibility cloak and he walked out of the compartment. Oh Merlin. I bet he's going to spy on Draco.
"Git." I glared at the door.
Ron looked at me, "do you think Malfoy is a death eater?"
I looked back at him, "Like I said. Draco is a lot of things, but he is not a Death Eater. He may be a Malfoy but he does have a heart. Unlike his father."
"I need to ask you something." Hermione said. "Did you tell Harmony about Sirius?"
A wave of sadness washed over me. "No."
"Did you tell her about Draco?" She asked.
I looked down at my lap, "no."
Hermione frowned, "I know she's only five years old, but you have to tell her about Draco. She calls him 'dad' Ember."
I looked up, "don't you think I know that? She always asks me where Draco is. When she has nightmares sometimes she calls for him."
"What are you going to do about it?" Ron asked.
"I don't know." I rest my head against the wall. "I don't want to upset her but then I don't want her calling him dad when we're not even together anymore."
Hermione studied my face. "Do you still have feelings for Draco?"
I bit my lip. "I don't know."
"I think you do." Hermione said.
"I can't. He has hurt me three times already." I said. "And think about what's going on lately. We all know there will be a war. Voldemort is my father. I'm going out of my mind."
"Well, who can blame you?" Ron joked. "You did go to Azkaban after all. People can go a bit mental."
I rolled my eyes, "thanks Ron."
"Don't deny your feelings." Hermione said, "it's make things worse. Just try to accept them."
I sighed, "I honestly don't know anymore."We finally arrived at Hogsmeade station. Harry wasn't back yet. "Where's Harry?" Hermione asked. We were one of the last ones to get off the train.
"He's probably on the platform." Ron said. "Come on."
We all go to the carriages. Some people looked at me and started to whisper. I knew what they are talking about. People will look at me and think, oh that's the girl who went to azkaban or that's you know who's daughter. It was stupid. I just hope my friends didn't change. Like Luna! I know Luna hasn't changed. She's Luna. Brilliant Luna.
We went to the Great Hall. Ron and Hermione sat next to each other, Ginny and I sat across from them. May ran over and sat next to me, "Ember!" She hugged me. "I missed you so much! You have no idea how things were over the summer."
I laughed, "we'll catch up later okay?"
May nodded, "okay. Where's Harry?"
I shrugged, "I don't know." The first years sorting was the same. Once it finished we all started to eat. Harry was still nowhere to be found.
I didn't eat much. Ever since Azkaban I've lost most of my appetite. Hermione looked at Ron who was pigging out. She wacked him with her book. "Will you stop eating? Your best friend is missing!"
Ron groaned, "Why won't you turn around, you lunatic?"
We all looked at the doors to see Harry. He was holding a bloody cloth to his nose. "He's covered in blood again." Ginny said. "Why is it he's always covered in blood?"
"Looks like it's his own this time." I said.
"Where have you been?" Hermione questioned Harry as he sat between Ginny and I.
"What happened to your face?" I asked.
"Later." Harry drank some pumpkin juice. "What did I miss?"
"The Sorting Hat says we ought to be brave and strong in these trouble times." Ron said. "Easy for it to say, though. It's a hat, isn't it?" Harry nodded in agreement.
Dumbledore stood up. Everyone went quiet. "Very best of evenings to you all. First off, let me introduce the newest member of our staff." He motioned to Slughorn who smiled happily. "Horace Slughorn. Professor Slughorn, I'm happy to say, has agreed to resume his old post... as Potions Master. Meanwhile, the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts will be taken by Professor Snape." Everyone broke into whispers as the Slytherin's clapped. "As you know," Dumbledore continued. "each and every one of you were searched upon your arrival here tonight. And you have the right to know why. Once, there was a young man. Like you, sat in this very hall." Oh God no. "Walked this castle's corridors. Slept under its roof. You see, to all the world, a student like any other. His name: Tom Riddle." Some students glanced at me. "Today of course, is known all over the world by another name. Which is why as I stand, looking out upon you all tonight, I'm reminded of a sobering fact. Every day, every hour, this very minute, perhaps dark forces attempt to penetrate this castle's walls. But in the end, that greatest weapon is you. Just something to think about. Now off to bed, pip pip."
"That was cheerful." Ron sighed.
We walked out of the Great Hall. I was stopped by Pugface Parkinson. "Well, well. Look who's fresh out of Azkaban." She laughed.
I glared at her, "sod off Puggy."
"You're pathetic." She smirked. "Perfect little November not so perfect anymore. Thought you'd go crazy in azkaban. Or go to your father."
I was about to lunge at her but May and Harry stopped me. "Ember, don't." May warned. "She's just trying to provoke you."
Parkinson smirked. Blaise walked over with Draco. I didn't look at Draco. Blaise frowned at Parkinson. "What did you say to her?" He growled.
"Nothing." Parkinson sneered. She looked at Draco and smiled. "Hey Dracy. Let's go to the common room."
"Of course, Love." Draco smiled and walked off with Parkinson.
I was in shock. What the hell just happened? Draco hated Parkinson with a burning passion. "Ember?" Blaise tried getting my attention.
"Draco's dating Parkinson." I said.
"No he's not." Hermione touched my arm.
"Then why the hell did he call her love?" I questioned. "Why is going with her?"
"It's a long story." Blaise said.
I looked at him, "save it. I don't want to hear it." I walked off and went to the Gryffindor common room.
I saw Seamus, Neville, Dean and Ginny. "Ember!" Seamus called out.
I stopped and looked at him. "Hey." I walked over to them and took a deep breath to calm down.
"How are you?" Seamus asked in his cute little Irish accent.
"I'm fine despite everything that's going on." I replied.
"I hope you're okay." Neville said. "Azkaban is a scary place."
I snorted, "you can say that again. It was terrifying. Still get nightmares about it."
"Well, I hope it all gets better." Dean smiled. Ginny smiled at me too. I saw Dean holding her hand and I winked causing her to blush.
"If you ever need anything," Seamus said. "You can always come to me- us." He quickly corrected himself.
I smiled at him, "thanks Seamus." I kissed his cheek.
"Ember!" May, Harry, Ron and Hermione walked in.
"Ember," May tried to talk to me.
I looked at her, "I told you. I don't want to hear it. It doesn't matter anymore. He made it clear he doesn't have feelings anymore."
"But he does!" May exclaimed. "If you'd just listen."
I shook my head, "I'm tired. I'm going to bed." I looked at Seamus who was beet red. "Night Seamus. Ginny, Dean, Neville." I went up to my dorm that I shared with May, Hermione and Ginny. I changed into my pajamas and took a piece of parchment out.
