Silence!

The brothers sat on the opposite ends of the room, not knowing what to say to each other. One could not ask and the other could not speak. Arjun could not take his eyes off his Bhaiya. He was scared to blink, terrified that his Bhaiya would vanish if he closed his eyes.

Maan could not look at Arjun. For a year he had his brother by his side, for a year he managed to keep his distance, but now that they were facing the truth, Maan lost all courage. He knew there would be questions, and he was not ready to give answers. He did not know if he would ever be ready.

Arjun willed Maan to look at him. For nine years he waited, and yet when the moment came, he could not even feel the joy. The pain in Maan's eyes unnerved him. He had questions, but he knew Maan was not ready to answer. For a year his brother was right there with him. He spoke to him every day. He was so close and yet Arjun could not recognize him. He could not recognize the man who raised him. That filled Arjun with guilt. He wanted to say so many things but words failed him.

When the door opened, the brothers looked startled. Karan walked into the room and looked at Maan.

"I sent the card to the forensics. We will hear from them soon. If you do not have any more instructions. I need to leave. My wife......" Karan fell silent when Maan looked at him, the pain in his eyes spoke volumes. He closed the distance between them and would have reached for Maan, but then he remembered Arjun's presence.
