The sound of the buzzing phone startled Roohi from her sleep. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes and looked at her watch. It was eight in the morning. Somehow she overslept. Exhaustion took a toll on her, she was surprised that Arjun did not wake her up. Usually Arjun made it a point to go back home before Abhi left for the school. The boy never went anywhere without saying bye to his Bhaiyu.

The persistent ringing of the phone annoyed her, she was not a morning person. That is the reason why she woke up so early. She needed at least an hour of solute before she could have a decent human interaction. She reached for the phone, with every intention of turning it off, but stopped when she saw their home number. She knew only Abhi used the number as his phone was with Arjun. She received the call without a second thought.

"Good Morning, bacha." She greeted the boy with a warm smile even though she could not see him.

"Morning, di. Is Bhaiyu with you? He is not taking my calls." Abhi sounded worried.

Roohi looked at the man sleeping beside her, he had not moved an inch. She envied him the deep sleep.

"He is sleeping, Abhi. Do you want me to wake him?"

"Yes, di. I need to leave for school. I cannot go the whole day without talking to him."

Roohi shook her head. The changes in Abhi amazed her. The boy who once loathed the rockstar, now could not live a day without seeing him. Even Arjun was the same. No matter how busy he was, he made it a point to spend time with Abhi. They were brothers in every way. Roohi gently nudged Arjun awake, ready for his tantrums. Arjun hated being disturbed from sleep, when he did not budge, Roohi shoved him with a little force. She was surprised when there was no response. Arjun was a heavy sleeper, but they were in the enemy's house. He was not the one to be so carefree in such situations.

"Arjun?"

Roohi tensed when there was no reaction. She leaned in closer, only to realize that Arjun's breathing was very shallow. Roohi held his hand to check the pulse, her face lost all color when she realized that the pulse was very faint.
